  • FABULOUS!

  • Not being crude, but I bet Phyllis Diller would have been good in the sack in her hay days, pardon the pun

  • Clap clap

  • lucy carter and harison carter??? they were married???????????

  • @angeloflove Lucy played Gale's sister in law

  • I love looking back at the later seasons of Here's Lucy. Lucy Carter in the later seasons often gave it right back to Harry, and was more down-to-earth and Lucille Ball-like, which made her more natural and fun. Lucy's wig here looks great, when she wore the longer and non-helmet hairstyles, she looked sexier and more sophisticated. Thanks for this again!

  • hey.. did miss diller ever appear on heres lucy?

  • Man, I love Lucy!!!

  • this was sooo funny!!!!!!!!

lucy was in shock, her face was so halarious!-annabella

  • Lucie Arnaz resembles Lorna Luft Judy's second child.

  • I know Liza dated Desi Jr. and Lucy who was very blunt and up front spoke very lovingly about Liza after they had broke up. I seen a clip of Lucille Ball when she was on Phil Donahue. I know that Lucille Ball really disliked Patty Duke and made Desi Jr break it off which he did. I would love to find a good Biography of Lucille Ball. Did she ever write an AutoBio ?

  • Lucy was superstitious so when her She married Desi Arnaz she made sure her Tv Characters all had "AR" in their names i.e "RicARdo, CARmichael,CARter & BARker" I heard that Desi & Madeline Pugh had an affair. was that true? I know that Judy & Lucy were good friends Lucy went to bat when Judy had her own show on CBS. Lucy said once that she herself, wasn't funny in real life & that Judy Garland was the funniest person she ever met & that Judy made her look like a Mortition.

  • I loved all 3 of Lucy's series." Life With Lucy" I watched but I don't think It was good. Lucy will forever be the Queen. I watched Life with Lucy to see Lucille Ball act. I knew she was getting on in years. I was 5 when this episode was aired so I only got to watch reruns. The Lucy show I read was #2 in the Ratings when it ended in1968. I read that she ended "The Lucy Show " when she sold Desilu, then started "Here's Lucy" She also felt her career started to ascend when she married Desi Arnaz.

  • If you or anyone remembers the "I Love Lucy" episode where the 4 principals were stranded at a rural ramshackle hotel by the railroad tracks... the hotel owner was Aaron Spelling, who went on to be a big producer. By the time he produced "Life With Lucy" he was so powerful he sold it to ABC without a pilot episode to be shown. A big problem. Also, that the live audience was packed with Lucy lovers didn't help; they were crazy about her and Gale Gordon nomatter how bad the script was.

  • @defundthewar No, Aaron Spelling didn't appear in that episode called "First Stop". The motel owner was played by Olin Howlin. (I got that info from Bart Andrews' I Love Lucy Book.) Aaron Spelling did appear in the very next episode, however, which was called "Tennessee Bound". He appeared as the gas station attendant who was tied together w/ the Bent Fork, TN, sheriff & his daughters, Teensy & Weensy, as Tennessee Ernie Ford helped the Ricardos & Mertzes escape the jail there.

  • @jehobden Thanks! Okay, I knew Aaron was in one of those shows in a bit part. But I stand by what I said about the lack of pilot being detrimental to "Life With Lucy." ABC did buy a pig in a poke, not knowing it wasn't funny. Not every great comedienne has a keen sense of humor or sense of quality. Mary Tyler Moore, for example, whom I'm crazy about. Success only came once, with a great creative team.

  • can someone tell me what episode this is pls

  • The episode is ' Lucy and Jim Bailey' from 1972

  • i love this episode!

  • Does Jim Baily impersonate Lucy too?

  • that was hilarious

but whas this heres lucy or life with lucy???

  • It's too bad that in her later series, Lucille Ball didn't get writers who could utilize her comedic talents, while making the show a bit more sophisticated---And get a director who would demand that she and her co-stars not use cue cards!

  • Lucy had Bob Carroll and Madelyn Pugh writing on all her shows including the radio show My Favorite Husband.

Even so, the I Love Lucy scripts seem better.

Lucy is often described as driven and hard working. Don't know why she starting relying on cue cards.

Davis' book Laughing With Lucy came out a couple years ago. Pretty entertaining.

Ts 4 posting. J.B. is always amazing.

  • I certainly appreciate your knowledge of Lucille Ball's series. However, Bob Carroll, Jr. and Madelyn Pugh were not regular writers for "Here's Lucy", they only wrote some episodes. In addition, if you research you will find that Madelyn and Bob only wrote sporadically for "The Lucy Show", primarily as regular writers during the show's early seasons. Again, it's refreshing to find someone else who has such a health "Lucy-Knowledge".

  • Not often one is complimented on being knowledgeable and also told one is wrong. But I've been wrong before.

I just went by the book mentioned above and a couple web sites. Always hard to know what's true in the ever-fascinating world of show biz.

You read any books by James Robert Parish? He's written so many I think he turns them out in his sleep. Seems to know his stuff.

As I go through life I find almost every situation is reminiscent of an episode of I Love Lucy or Mama's Family.

  • Bob Caroll Jr. and Madelyn Pugh did not write every season of The Lucy Show. After the first couple of seasons, they only wrote for the show sporadically. Bob and Madelyn were never regular writers for "Here's Lucy", although they did write for the show sporadically. If you do some research on The Lucy Show and Here's Lucy, you will find that what I am saying is unequivocally true. This is not a matter of opinion, it is fact.

  • OMG Hilarious
