Did you really figure this out by ear? And if you did, did you happen to tab it out onto the internet. it looks exactly like a tabbed version i learned.
Well done brother. Never mind the people saying it's "robotic and unfeeling" because that's exactly what it was when Trey Spruance played it on DV (I don't think that particular set of riffs was designed to project feel in the first place). If you can somehow, some way figure out Platypus (the guitar parts that is) without your head exploding I'd love to see it (my fave song from DV, it makes my brain spin with wtf-ness). Cheers good sir.
When I first heard this song on the album, I had to stop what I was doing to take it all in. Every time I hear it, I find something new I like about it.
Great job putting this together, I'm sure it took you a while to work it out.
Oh man my first time hearing the complete album was on high-dose LSD (my friend used that specific album to fuck with people when tripping balls)and I was like "ok some acid jazz mixed with some drum and bass, kinda neat, almost Jackie Maclean-like on that sax and I....uh WTF, it's a death metal song now? Wait now it's the death metal riff with the acid jazz sax?Should I say any of this out loud or am I hallucinating?" Naturally I had to find everything Bungle ever did after that.
I am a total Mr Bungle mark and i know all the songs by heart, and i must say.. damn near flawless duplication.. excellent work!. trey would be proud..=D
I hate it when people, (Not just the person underneith my comment) think that to be a great guitarist, you have to show "emotion" I've been playing guitar for 13 years, and I've learned way more by actually playing rather than banging my head around whilst making it look like I can play.
Fucking nice. I'm trying to teach myself it but I just don't have the speed. I can play the secret song after Carry Stress In the Jaw, though. Got any tips?
Wow dude, you got it tight. Im a big bungle fan and ive never seen someone play it like you do, 2 thumbs up! Only the end is messy, but i guess its a hard part to find hehe. If you have other stuff, id like to see it!

Spruance plays the fast riffs like a machine. I think you nailed it pretty good!
thormeister 3 years ago 2
This comment has received too many negative votes show
Don't take this badly. You play it like a machine would play it. All the emotion is gone. You'll be amazing if you focus on this.
