I have watched this about three times already. (Obsessed much? Yes! ) Oh. My. Lordy. Mama. <3 MANIPS. This was absolutely amazing.
Joker crying, is not out of character at all, like most would say, because he is human, even though he might not have a heart. More on that, he has one he just doesn't care about the same things we all do. Except for Harley. I am sure he does have some kind of emotion deep down, and he would express it towards his Puddin though.
Joker crying is unusual, but not out of character. People mightn't agree 'cause they automatically assume that what they see of Joker on screen is how he is all the time. That's for the less imaginative.I like to be creative and think outside the box; maybe The Joker has a lot of aspects that we don't actually know about. Not to the extent of completely different, flower picking, innocent Joker; but somewhere deep within he does have feelings. He's not a monster.
Just looking at it Nolanverse wise, he seems less likely to cry, that's all. I'd like to think he can show those deep emotions, but the way he seems to be interpreted in Dark Knight, he seems like a monster, non-human almost.
It takes me ages to do some of the manips, the one with Joker crying into Harley in particular took me so long to do. I'm glad my storylines are understandable. I like making them as clear as I can, but sometimes, with lack of clips, it's hard to properly show what is happening.
OMFG O_O This is by far the most intense, most incredible and fucking awesome vid I have ever seen O_O Imposible to list all that i love about it but i have to say your manips were so fucking badass that they left me damn speachless O_O O_O the intensity, the dialogue was perfect and GOD YOUR MANIPS!!!!!!!!!!! This vid deserves an award like for real it does.
X) Seriously?! Thank youuuu! I don't tend to use dialogue a lot in my videos, so this is kind of special for me. And I'm glad my manips were successful. They take me ages to do, but are incredibly fun nonetheless.
And Joker does cry; Arlene Sorkin and Brian Azzarello, he doesn't do it often, I know what you see in my manip is the only time my Harley's seen him cry.
And the manip of her walking towards the cell, so awesome.
Just looking at Nolanverse Joker. I find it hard to imagine him crying. The way he's interpreted makes him seem like an unfeeling monster who shows little emotion. I like to think that he's able to express such emotions, but it's hard to assume things of the character from the little on screen time we see. We see his normal persona and we just guess the rest really. There could be a whole deeper aspect of Joker that we haven't seen and that's why I like to make these videos.
@SlashGashJokerWhore ; I always blend Nolanverse Joker with Azzarello's Joker because like you said there is only so little screen time. I also think we borrow from the man who played him. There was something so very rare and vulnerable about Heath. I know when Matt plays Joker, there's these flashes of emotion, he hesitates when Harley is involved --- even if it just for a moment. Someone did this great review about the Graphic Novel Joker, and it so totally explains things.
@SlashGashJokerWhore ; in Joker [which is where my original manip is from] he lets himself be weak, alone, with her. Clinging to her. Clinging. Well Azzarello's Harley stands there like a pillar, mine feels it. She feels it and tries her best to comfort him. Emotions I don't doubt happen with Joker, but they don't happen often.
This is why I like the pairing. It's so complex. I've seen that one strip in Joker even though I haven't read the whole novel. where Joker is crying into her stomach and it is actually a really touching image. As horrible as it sounds, I like to see him cry. I'm reminded that he does have feelings. With Nolan's Joker, we can be as creative as we want when using him because he's made to be mysterious, so no one can say for definite WHO The Joker really is because we don't know.
Really? This is amazing...your work is fantastic!

This is your best video yet. This is why I subbed you.
Your manips are crisp and believable, the storyline was clear and I understood the storyline without even looking in the description box.
Overall it is just a beautiful storyline executed with such skill. You are seriously amazing.
