I think the "problem" is that he's much louder than the rest. Also, there's too much intensity in his playing in comparison with the rest. Perhaps asking him to relax more while playing will help.
Hello ctmajka! Many thanks for your comments on this piece. You were right about the trumpet player, his name is Max. Part of the problem is, we play on this stage once a year with one short rehearsal two hours before so not much time to do it all. Good trumpeters are rare in this part of the world so there is no real insentive for these lads to go for it. Keep the comments coming, it shows them there's somebody out there listening. Thanks. I completely understand. I'm Quite a loud trumpet player as well. I always have been. I was the only 4th trumpet on this piece when we played it last year. I loved this piece so much, and you guys have a full & well balanced sound.
Excellent performance! That's the way music is supposed to be played. There's a lot of power in the band's playing, and this is a really difficult piece for band. Great job!
Hello bassoon1784! I've been waiting for a long time to get to thank you for your comment this piece. I started this comunity band ca 18 years ago in an area of Germany thats not known for good and its not easy, but with comments like yours from an English speaking person gives the band a boost, I think. We are in an area not known for its good bands so it is hard to convince this lot to keep going. comments like yours encourages them to think bigger. Recording is terrible. Lots of shrieky sounds. Moreover, all of the instruments should have played a little softer and slower.
