  • Great!! Very inspiring indeed! Congrats for all your achievements.

  • you are the best man thx for accepting me on facebook man cheers and soon ill post my songs online

  • Pardon if I sound ignorant, but did this riff ever make it into any of your recordings?

  • 2:50 - 4:10 : On eof the best thinsg I've ever heard, and it was only improvised ^^

  • One of the best guitar pieces I've ever heard. And that was improvised. Wonder what it would sound like if you actually sat and worked on it.

  • very cool

  • That was beautiful man. I absolutely loved the way you used that 7th string.

Damn. I need a seven string.

  • you are "the man" for making these lessons for all the aspiring guitarists in the world..........thanx and cant wait for another ROTW episode!

  • That was beautiful man. It's incredible that you would take the time to help all of us out here in Guitarland. You are truly a hero to guitar players everywhere.

  • Always great lessons Dave!! there are many examples of these, but I just wanted to recommend Touching Tongues by Steve Vai for anyone out there.

  • you are the shit for actually offering this kind of stuff to people. many pros wouldnt dare expose their ideas and secrets

  • thats was really awsome

  • i love your skills and i learn a lot from you, and i'm sure you want to get known which is absolutely understandable

but how about some contests where the best guitar lick/solo that was written by one of your followers (:P) that would get these badass pedals?

    that'd be much cooler..

  • Yes but who determines what is "best". Art contests are quite lame.

  • May's Brighton Rock!!! Is the best example of this dilay use....11 minutes of pure ginius

  • thank you dave! that was really a creative. you just inspired me to look at delay in a different way.

  • Thank You, Mr. Weiner! You are always an inspiration... Best wishes from Germany!

  • That's intelligent music ...Never thought of that ! thx for your great job pal :)

  • wooah this is insanly amazing good stuff dude :)

  • thx!

  • Dave this was a good video but i think in guitar playing, delay is seriously overdone. I think another video along these same lines but a different/lesser known pedal or effect would be good or a combination of effects/pedals.

    -Travis

  • yo dave, that riff is absolutely kick ass!!! omg i really love it...

  • can you demo more of your pedals plz?

  • What guitar is that? Any chance I can pick one up?

  • It's an Ibanez LACS. and it's for sale directly from me. $5k obo.

  • Are they a one off?

  • yes, handmade, 1 off made to my specs.

  • I want one! haha I'm gonna have to see about getting that money together.

  • Dave rawks, just spent the last hour chatting to him, Dave is the real deal what you see is what you get.

    peace

    cal

  • Liquid perfection.... that was smooth, bro.

  • wow dave that was great very inspiring riffage and great advice

  • where can i get tabs for this, ive visited yourwebsite and cant really find any!

  • ROTW tabs are temp. down. Will return when i get some time.

  • You strike me as having a good business head on you too Dave!!

  • if that was completely made up from scratch i must say that was the best thing ive ever heard it really got me moving and to be honest it gave me goosebumps it was so amazing i listened to it about 10 times.

this is definately got to be one of the best ROTW ever

    Keep on Rocking Dave

  • u r such a gr8 guitarist dude !!!

  • Great riff this week! And your HD videos are awsome!!!!

  • very inspiring

  • this is the first time that i was touched by your riff...

  • same. Awesome job dave

  • great dave.

  • THAT WAS FUCKING KILLER

  • this might be the best RoTW ever

  • 2:57 reminded me of Transparent & Glasslike by Carpark North

  • 1. Sounds like a good song to me

  • I do that all the time!! :D.... explored the crap out of my korg ax3000g... have got pretty good results from that... gotta record all that...

  • that was amazing Dave, nice bass sound too.

  • New Contests!! I'm in!!!

Can you please demo a little bit of the two pedals giving away?? Just to let us know how it sounds like =P

  • i think a look at octavarium by dream theater is worth a look, on the wiki page, it melds how you put across concepts in musical form, also dark side of the moon or the wall:)

  • yeah! FANTASTIC!

  • very cool video, dave. these are hands down the best guitar lesson videos i've ever seen. this video in particular is awesome because it's nice to see a guitarist that thinks the same way i do! i think that different combinations of guitars and effects can make you play differently and bring out different sides of your playing. for example, an acoustic guitar makes me play differently then a 7-string or my fender telecaster.

also, have you ever tried a guitar synthesizer before?

  • that was awesome. i was fooling around delay and my volume pedal a few days ago. its funny how i came to watch this.

  • that was brill

  • Great lesson never thought of approaching it that way , nice .

  • When you started embellishing it with the bass notes/ lead bits...AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • dave you're a genius

  • Absolutely amazing. Once I finally catch up, I'm going through every vid you have posted on youtube. Awesome little riff you put together. Keep it up.

  • amazing!!!! so many possibilities with that delay!!!

  • hello sir! great video, very inspirational

my question though is how would you find what chord correctly fits the implied harmony? you may play an Eb for example in the melody, but how would you figure out what type of Eb chord it would be? that seems to be the major road block in my song writing, i can think up melody but i cant put the chords to it

  • the answer to all your questions is at daveweiner . com / lessons

  • Learn how to harmonize scales , and how chords are made.

  • if you are within a scale context (say, Eb major scale) what you should do is build up 7 chords, one for each note of the scale, using only those 7 notes from Eb major. you're probably not going to learn anything from this tiny message but look it up, it's called HARMONIZING A SCALE. I hope i could be of some help for you =)

and watch my vids, it's an order.

  • FIRST!!!!!!!!! BTW Dave, thank you so much for the best online video lessons eva!!!

  • nice dave!!
