Learning drums as a teenager is much easier than starting in elementary school in band. Its not hard to believe that he did it in 9 months. And if he's played any instrument aside from drums before, that just makes it easier. I have a friend who plays guitar primarily, but can drum better than most of the bass drums on our drumline lol

I disagree.. They are great pedals! I have had them for about 2months and had no problems at all! thought the beaters are hardly classed as "powerful" after coming from Iron cobras! :P

But If they "fall apart" they are covered by Pearls Lifetime guarentee.. So I doubt they are as poorly made as you are making them out to be! otherwise pearl would just lose money on everything..

Try using thicker sticks if you break them.

If your pedal hinges are working themselves loose, use whichever type of bolt to fix them back together- it's pretty simple.

Try using thicker heads (Remo Emperors, etc.) if you're breaking through them, and tune the drums right- if you overtighten them they'll pop quicker, and if you undertighten them they'll rip.

Pretty solid drumming for having played 9 months though.

problem is with the pedals, the screws that need to be tightened are behind a sticker which axis labeled "DO NOT REMOVE"

so... yeah goodbye warranty =/

and the heads werent popping or ripping so much as they were stretching to the point where they were toneless. i've also switched evans heads now though, and they sound great and are holding up nicely :)

Ah, well, I'd say send the pedal back if they're picky about that. If the heads were stretching to tonelessness then you were probably overtightening the heads, but regardless you said you have heads that work now, so it sounds good.
