  • nice vid and nice pictures. but all you really need to do to -survive- is sit in that forest and lay a few snares. you have ample woodland to make a shelter and fire, ample water, ample animal life to feed yourself with. you could survive with a carrier bag of items, easily.

  • @thatfknninja We know that, but unfortunately we're not allow to do this in our country (the UK) unless you were in a true life/death survival situation. This was not a true life/death survival situation (far from it), it was just a personal challenge to have some fun amongst friends.

  • Cool video guys!

  • You guys are awesome. Good photography skills

  • @EnterTheMuffin Thanks bud :)

    - Ashley Cawley.

  • @CiaranRooney125 I'm glad you enjoy it :) Have you seen another earlier video of ours, it's called: "Bushcraft Camping on Dartmoor with Friends" similar sort of affair but a real favourite vid of mine. Hope you enjoy it and don't forget to join us on the website. Happy Camping,

    - Ashley Cawley.

  • @NaturalBushcraft I have bud, Another good one :)

  • Like the vid guys. Especially like the 'JLS' number plate. I sincerely hope it's not personalised because you love the 'band' so much, ha ha.

Should be going here in Sept for the first time anyway. Your vids made me even more excited about it. Cheers.

  • @jamesvolunteer Glad you liked the vid and no there's no personalised number plate! :p

If you have any photos or videos of your trip please pop along to the Natural Bushcraft Forum and share them with us :)

is it like automatically fed oor something?

  • Well done lads, another great vid about getting out there.

  • Is there anywhere in Dartmoor or Exmoor where we could camp without being disturbed that is completely deserted?

Silly question i know, but i've yet to visit either of these places and keen to try out bushcraft without disturbence.

    Await your reply.

  • @fartunique Jump on the NBC Forums and post the same question, you'll get a lot more replies from people in the know ;)

    Ash.

  • @NaturalBushcraft Okay will do, thanks for getting back at me.

  • @fartunique Plenty of places on both moors, as long as your willing to to do a bit of trecking off the beaten track.

  • first stop. THE PUB

  • Fantastic video, loved it, wish I was there too! haha :-)

  • Ah MAN that looks like you had a CRACKING time. Can't wait for the xmas meet - just hope I'm free or can get free to make it.

  • Buetiful country side, and a great video!!!!

  • Hi guys, great video, Dartmoor is definately on my 2011 wild camping list. Did you have to carry in all of your water or did you use any other water source on the moors during your 2 nighter ?.

  • has that fire really been burning consistantly? all that time?

  • is there anywhere i could see a list of what each individual brought with them??? Great video brothers.

  • @tanaoi Yeah, checkout the blog at NaturalBushcraft and join the community there. There is something large launching at NaturalBushcraft within the next 48hrs! :D

  • @NaturalBushcraft thank you very much for replying it means alot to know that you care about your viewers questions i'll definitely be joining your site, thanks again.

  • Rain looks lovelly.

  • Great eye for the still photos. You captured a real feel for the moments. Thanks for shareing. I have been thinking of purchasing a hammock. How do they work out for larger men?

  • @ud45 I'm 6 foot and just under 18 stone, works fine for me!

    - Ashley Cawley.

  • I have stayed very close to where you guys are. If you cross the road and head to the forest in front of you, I have stayed in there. The pubs fire is always a welcome haven after a few cold days on the moor. I can remember sitting in front of it drying out my socks and boots.

  • @seanmulhall That's nice to hear Sean :)

We've both sat beside the same fire then, their fire has supposedly been lit since 1845! Hope your well bud, all the best,

    - Ashley Cawley.

  • @NaturalBushcraft

When I was there the barman said it was a sackable offence to let it go out. lol,

  • Thanks for the video. I wanted to see what the Shangri-La was like next to the hex. The 3/4 ground sheet looks good as well to give you a wet/muddy area. How did the ground dwellers fair on the wet ground or was it not wet?

With a hammock you definitely need a good underbody protection as mentioned. A tent gives me a better sense of a home though for some reason.

Did you manage on your water rations or were able to refill en route?

  • Incase anyone's wondering what song plays around @8:40 'till end, it's Eddie Vedder - Guaranteed. When I heard it I was trying to remember where I knew it from, and I was right, it was from the film Into The Wild. with a bit of searching I was able to find it on YouTube. Great video guys! (And good choice of outro tune)

  • Great video guys.

    Thoroughly enjoyed watching it.

    5*

    Rob.

  • Nice

  • The UK countryside is so pretty; can't believe my great-grand peps ever left there. I want to visit on day...

  • Looks like you four had a great weekend guys!! Good video and ace photos ;-)

    Dan

  • you guys are always driving on the wrong side of the road....lol jk

  • @slowtaknow Hey! We invented that road! So it is you sir that is driving on the wrong side of the road :p

  • @slowtaknow ...actually we can safely say that we are indeed driving on the right side of the road : ) ...and that's the truth : ) soooo everyone is right, right : )

  • I didn't know such places existed in the UK. Very nice indeed.

  • absolutely beautiful guys. Nature untouched is just beyond words

  • What flavor of trees were the conifers where you camped?? They look very much like the Douglas Fir stands here in Washington State... Northwestern U.S.

  • Excellent video, thanks for sharing... its beautiful there....

  • Water is heavy,

    I take mine dehydrated.

  • @loki1066 You take your water dehydrated? Interesting! lol.

  • Easy...

    A caravan,

    A fully stocked freezer.

  • @loki1066 lol and there would be a hundred items in your caravan no doubt :p

  • 10 items= 20+ kilos??? Sturdy items! not much suffering there mate. lol. Great vid.

  • @spence0324 There was only 1 person who had a 20KG bag! :p I've updated the description with more info on the challenge itself. We plan to make this an annual trip and go down on the number of items we're allowed each time.

  • @theswimer419 2.2 pounds in a kilogram.

  • 10 items ? are your clothes 1 item or is it 1 jumper 1 pair of socks etc?

Is it a cook kit or 1 pot

look's like a good time was had by all.
