  • look it's a pony

  • she can sing good... but didn't really like the peformance :)

and i don't care if she looks like a horse, she's a good actress, and isn't that what matters?

    anywayyy

  • WOW! A singing horse!

  • Damn, people are so superficial. She doesn't look like a horse. Grow up.

  • She was beverages attractive. Even if you're attracted to horses.

  • why so much hate ?? i really cant understand why!

  • All I heard was "NEEEEIIIGGGHHHH

  • wow i didnt even know she could sing!

  • @takemeout2nite14 You've never watched Hocus Pocus?!? She has a pretty voice!!

  • She's adorable. I didn't know she could sing like that, either. lol at the people talking about her looks. I wonder what YOU look like lol

  • :O 1982?! How old is she?! I thought she had like 30'ish... but oviously she's older! lol She have a real nice voice, i never thought she could sing/sang this well! =D

  • WONDERFUL!

  • i didn't know ponies could sing? god she really is a talentless hack. i'd like these 109 seconds of my life back. i need to go wipe the blood she made come out of my ears

  • @scarletfatbitch Gosh, you'd think if your ears were in such pain you wouldn't have stuck around for a whole 109 seconds. I hope you take better care of yourself in the future :)

  • u mean...a horse?

  • Sorry, oh my God!

  • Oh my Good!

  • SO YOUNG!

  • @noctmor not everyone gets up just to impress you. besides, that was stylish back then.

  • i had no idea she could sing....

  • @leebeegee I didn't think she could sing either... after this I am convinced I was right

  • @leebeegee She sang in Hocus Pocus!

  • SHE IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CUTE AT THAT AGE. I REMEMBER SEEING HER ON TV BACK THEN. ITS TO BAD WE HAVE TO GROW UP

  • that HAIR... lol

  • wow shes so confident... but her teeth have changed :S

  • @ImogenSimoneMusic I think she had braces here...

  • @Fiordiligi2

oh :D thankyou! :) i wondered why they werent so sticky outy, and i dont mean tha in a bad way, shes still stunning :O

  • its not about how correctly she's singing

its about the characterization shes bringing to it, and the facial expressions

shes sparkling in this :) :)

  • She was alright...I still don't like her. She stole my man. -____-

  • aww look how cute she was back when she was only a pony

  • @noctmor What satisfaction do you get making fun of the way people look? Why is it so many people judge others ESPECIALLY on something they can't change. Don't give me plastic surgery bull because people shouldn't have to change who they are because of you! You're a jerk

  • @noctmor omg that made me laugh hahahha

  • @noctmor lol and what do YOU look like, douchebag? She also happens to be cute.

  • She was probably really nervous. She's not amazing, but she's good.

  • She was so adorable. And I love that Allison Smith ( from Kate and Allie) the Annie at that time, was there too.

  • :) Wow. She's good. :)

  • this is terrible. just watch the original Broadway version then watch this. She has no clue how to really sing this. and its a duet

  • really can't believe it's her!

  • Didn't know she could sing... I guess I've only really known her from Sex and the City though.

  • WONDERFUL!

  • OMG I CANT BELIEVE THATS SJP thats crazy shes AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i love her! she was so cute!

  • is that bonnie langford by the piano???

  • amazing

  • She's SO cute!!!!! And what an amazing singer!

  • i love her lol

  • pleaaas... stay as an actor!

  • wow, this is quite high and she sings it so effortlessly!! Love it!

  • Adorable!

  • Holy shit... work it!

  • siempre cn esa sonrisa k bien

  • i wonder what carrie bradshaw would say about this ensemble...

  • She should have held the mic closer to her face.

  • oh my god cant believe that she sings so great

  • @macdog0000000 Why? She was playing Annie on Broadway at 14.

  • Loveeeeeeeee it!

  • I guess SJP didn't discover her fashion sense until much later. Then again, it was the early 1980s and perhaps this was the look (granny dress) that everyone was wearing. She does sing very well.

  • @MARCBSTN the dress was the style for girls at the time... girls younger then her, yes, but they would have been trying to downplay how old she was at the time. She was the oldest Annie that there'd been so far(and maybe still) at 13 or 14. So they would have put her in a dress that made her look younger then she was... and the hairbow helps make one seem younger then you really are.

  • I´m just blown away, she sings absolutely great, she is so cute, adorable and talented!I wonder if she is going to do broadway parts again?sarah jessica parker probably didn´t stop practising so she must be even better today!

  • @turnabuoni

    so your deaf and blind?

  • god. i love her.

    this is so amazing.

  • It's so fashionable to hate on SJP for no real reason. She was amazing in this.

  • @theking0fnowhere "hey SJP, why the long face"? :)

  • @tag1989 Didn't even mention her looks in my comment.

  • @theking0fnowhere oh i know :)

  • @tag1989 Kind of makes your comment moot. It's not about how she looks. It's about her talent, and people are letting their opinions of her looks cloud their judgment of her talent. Welcome to YouTube.

  • @theking0fnowhere well everybody is saying that her singing sucks, so why put down the same comment. I'd rather tell the truth about her looks.

  • @tag1989 Because they are only saying her singing sucks because (and this goes back to my main point), it's fashionable to hate on Sarah Jessica Parker. Reading comprehension: learn it.

  • @theking0fnowhere but we dont know for sure if they are hating just to be fasionable. so its not really worth learning.

  • @theking0fnowhere i agree, i like SJP but im not a big fan of her character carrie which i think a lot of people judge her on

  • UGH !!! EARPLUGS PLEASE !!!

  • Her confidence is what's really selling it for her

  • love her as little sarah, love her as carrie, love her until death!

  • she really was "poor as a mouse" back then. bold voice - good or bad, she owned it.

  • I love this. I love how she has a lisp because if her braces.

  • Good singing...too bad you're a hatchet-faced donkey witch...

  • LOL! The first thing I saw SJP on was a tv sitcom about nerds called "Square Pegs" she was of course one of the nerds with thick rimmed bifoculs. It was always SJP and Jamie Gertz together in different movies.

  • This is awful.

  • @rjs5146 listin to the song she nailed it

  • @rjs5146 The song or the performance? She was Annie on Broadway so she was a pro at this.

  • She looks like a horse and still does.

  • she was ugly back then

  • I love this! She was great!

  • 0:52 so clear and strong

  • Comment removed

  • Is that David Cross at 0:00?

  • @JoeKopsick4Congress That's Martin Charnin. He wrote the lyrics in Annie and directed the original production.

  • Her face wasn't that horse-like back then. And she's got a good strong voice.

  • Comment removed

  • that confidence is what made her a star! =)

  • What a cutie!

  • How old was she when she did this?

  • @kangadillo she was 17

  • my oh my how far was that microphone..that shows she has a powerful voice..!

  • wow she is really good

  • Aaaah, the over confidence sticks in the throat.

  • she kinda sounds like annie

  • She's good.

  • Wow She favors Mayim Bialik here. haha!

  • love her!

  • OMG NO WAY!!! SJP!!!!!

  • She was so awesome

  • BURN IT!!!!!

  • If you're Jewish, your soul is a part of G-d from High. Wake up. Visit chabad website

  • 1982 DANG SHES OLD

  • Queen of the Stage ...

  • ummmm.....ok she so wasnt pretty then. and voice...ok...but NO

  • Wow she is still the same annoying wench

  • I love the person who says 'You can say that again!' xDD does anyone know who she is?

  • @chloealyssamei That's Allison Smith. She was playing Annie on Broadway at the time this took place.

  • I saw her play annie when it was on Broadway

  • Pony days.

  • hard to believe she went from this to Carrie Bradshaw! Shes a pretty good singer :)

  • I think the problem that a lot of people have with her voice is that she has that "older singing style" that's sort of unheard of by now. She's actually a nice singer, but she definitely sings this as a "belt" style instead of going into her head voice. It's similar to the singing style of Wicked or other famous plays. She's using a "nasal" style.

  • Nobody would have guessed that she would become a HUGE star.

  • aww:')

SJP i think is awesome :)

  • OH MY GOD!!!!!! THAT'S NOT SARAH JESSICA PARKER! :O :O :O

  • @trine2401 wow! you're blind! :O :O :O so saaad :(

  • @JacoBZ95 LOL. :)

  • Im better then her in some ways but worse in others

  • wow, okay. you're all really stupid. i do musical theatre, i'm fifteen. this is the way annie is supposed to be done. have others done it better than her? yes. but seriously, she did this for five years. she was twelve. of course it's going to sound a little strained. i think this is wonderful.

  • @BlOwMeThRoUgHtHeRoOf While I am not a SJ Parker fan in general, she definitely can sing, especially for sitting on a little stool (which makes it harder to breathe properly, right?). Clearly she had theatrical talent even then. All but the end are excellent; pleasantly surprised!

  • she's a pretty good singer but she's sounds kinda strained....

  • Well she can sing at times but other times it sounds like she's just yelling haha

  • If this was in 1982 like it says in the description then Sarah Jessica parker was 17 years old when she sang this.

  • How old she's here?

  • It's not a very good voice, but it's a good voice for Annie. The style is very nasal when she hits the high notes and little girl, which is the type of voice Annie has. I couldn't see her voice being suitable for any other character. Maybe characters like the teenage girls in "Bye Bye Birdie", or anything really little girl, it's just that type of voice.

  • how old is She in this Annie crap.

  • @wickedherogirl7 A highly regarded actress would never have done "Annie" at 30 or 40 years old. It is a role for a 10 year old, but Sarah is not a gifted actress, so she has to take whatever comes her way. She also looks like a man.

  • @STOPCRIME1000 What a complete idiot. She was 12 when she played Annie in Broadway; she did it for 5 years. People have to start somewhere.

  • @staindstreams Prove it. She looks like a woman/man named Valerie Beck.. Look up Valerie Beck on youtube. Maybe you are a complete idiot for believing the media. A little Jewish actress will always be protected whether they have talent or not.

  • @STOPCRIME1000 AHAHAHA you're retarded.

  • @staindstreams SJP played Annie on Broadway for about a year in 1980 or so when she was 14. She wasn't the original annie but the 2nd replacement.

  • @Tolstoy111 I researched before I said anything. It stated her first performance was when she was 12 and went on until she was 17.

  • @staindstreams According to WIki: "beginning March 1979. Parker held the role for a year."

  • @STOPCRIME1000 What are you talking about? She's a kid here. At most a young teenager. Crazy talk.

  • all you people are crazy she sings just fine

  • @varaques

i guess we've established something in the last 6 months, that is............... your tone deaf

  • wow! she's pretty good, especially for someone who's not a professional n.n

  • @lemoulinrouge She WAS a professional singer. She played Annie on Broadway. She got paid to sing.

  • @Tolstoy111 haha well still, she was fairly young, so it's still nice n.n

  • lol

  • Oy Veh.........

    I am speechless...

    Not in a good way...

She is a great actress but not the same for singing...

  • haha..look at her...cutey..

  • Hahaha.

  • I think she played Annie well. As a singer she isn't bad. Look at Hocus Pocus. But for this performance I thought it was done well.

  • @glitterflower08 i'm with you on that! stage presence but her voice, hmmmm i'm not sure!?!

  • I cringed when she hit that high note. Every time.

  • She did a good job she made it her own.

  • dude she cant hit the high notes and if she continues to sing them badly and the wrong way she is going to ruin my voice... i take lessons and she shouldnt sing like this

  • She's great. So young but so powerful. And now she's just FABULOUS!

  • ...i don`t have a good reason and it makes me a bad person but I hate this women...and yet I`m watching this...

  • @glitterflower08 shes eathier screaming the song or singing so loud it sounds lik shouting witha mic rite there

  • @glitterflower08 i agree

  • I think she's wonderful

  • LOL!

  • i think she did great!!!

  • you should see her in Once Upon a Mattress

  • shes sooooooo cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow she can sing!

  • Wow !!! she was a very tall child.

  • She has confidenceeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i didn't know she can actually sing so well...

  • awkward....cringeworthy

  • hmm...

  • uck!!

  • good or bad, she owned it, proves confidence can sell anything

  • @glitterflower08 She hits weird notes but she's really good!

  • she's brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • SHE IS FABULOUS, PEOPLE! I'VE ALWAYS ADORED HER AND ONLY WISH SHE WAS DOING MORE AND MORE AND MORE! BLESS YOU ALWAYS, SJP!!!

  • this is awful

  • ummmmmmmmmmmmm

  • the awesome-ness is MOLLY RINGWALD doing back ups!!!!!!!

  • Oh my god, she's hideous.....She's a scary annie. Who would have thought she'd become a style icon.

  • @heartofsnow23 yeah she might have not been the prettiest person in this video, but this video was after her run as Annie.... at least im almost positive because at 1:05 u can see Allison Smith who was the current annie at that time. :)

  • @heartofsnow23 She looks like a normal, natural little girl. It's too bad you don't see much of that anymore.

  • @heartofsnow23 She looks like a normal, natural little girl. It's too bad you don't see much of that anymore. she's not a great singer tho.
