This race was classic Couthard - three big accidents minimum in the space of an hour, or your money back. :-)

I remember it. After this accident luftwaffe wanted to bomb London. Gossip said that Coulthard did it on purpose to Hakkinen won the world champion. I agree with that. You have to remember that Coulthard was not a good driver. At the beginning of this race caused the biggest disaster in the history of F1. But I his "talent" remember when he entering to pit lane and hit to crash barrier. Sad.

Sorry, but to say that Coulthard was not a good driver is just stupid. He won some F1 races and was one of the best drivers who never won the World-Championship. But not only World-Champions are good drivers!

He didn't do that on purpose, he just made a small mistake. He wanted to let Michael pass but he forgot, that because of the spray Michael couldn't see that he was slowing down. He should have gone to the outside of this turn but it was just a mistake. Nobody is perfect.

Every f1 driver, especially a good one as you just said, knows that you simply cant slow down on a straight under pouring rain, when you are on the line and there's another driver behind you unluess you dont want to hurt him on pourpose. He really wanted to be overlapped he should have changed line and after that slow down. They have been both really lucky, if you think back to Villeneuve, Patrese or Christian Fittipaldi crashes that could have ended in tragedy.

Still funny; whether or not Coultard slowed down and stayed on the racing line, Schumacher did hit him not the other way about. It certainly amused me at the time.

Anyone who thought at the time that this was any fault of Michael's was a complete clot. DC's worst move of his whole career. What was he thinking? - 'I know, lets sit on the racing line and back right off in the worst visibility and let Schumacher past'! Totally unacceptable. DC even said a few years ago that he made a very bad mistake for himself.

as far as i can see, schumi was also out of the race, so u cant be champion when loosing...

2ndly.. a crash is always a bad thing, cause nomatter how small a crash, it could end out deadly, and therefore u dont just hit a nother car on purpose...

if he's a cheater, he's a damn good one - cause 9 championships.. thats not cheat, thats greatness
