  • If anyone have problems - by clickin u are taken to the pic in new browser's window - check the very top of yer html file - a strings near number 20 or whatever:

    scrpt type="text/javascript" src="$config[dir_core]shadowbox.js

This string should exist (it may look different.) And make sure u have shadowbox.js file where u mentioned it to be in html. AND ALSO - for exmple anythingslider.js - a jQuery plugin - if it's installed - it breaks lightbox plugin. Such conflict also may be.

  • @TheSyberian: Hah - werks nahahaice!!! And what i love thee best - AND THAT IS VERY IMPORTANT:

Shadowbox TURNS OFF ANY FLASH swf CONTENT. This necessary because swf object is in 90 percents goes as overlay - only a flash can overlay flash. And lightbox had missed that thang and look freaky and buggy.

    Pace ta Einglaind! ))

  • Hi This is a user from hong kong,

I can already did the fuction u teach in the video,

But I would like to know how to build a gallery, non single image,

Would you tell me how by leaving me back comments?

    Thanks for help~

    :)

  • its works great with normal images but im trying to use shadowbox with a roll over image and im having a hard time knowing where in the html code to put the rel="shadowbox" - any clues? would really appreciate the help, thanks

  • lol dont worry i managed to figure it out - great tutorial btw :)

  • Also do the pictures have to be from the web or can they be on your computer? such as flckr or such? thanks again

  • The picture needs to be either on your web server or hosted online from another site (such as flickr). When you come to host your website you must upload your file to your server instead of having it on your computer. If you want to use an image from flickr copy the image url and paste it where we put the file path of the image on our computer. Did that make sense? I hope so! :D

  • @adobenicnacs You made a great clear tutorial, but whatabout using Shadowbox with a program like Sharepoint Designer, Frontpage, or Web Expression 4? Not everone uses Dreamweaver. Will Shadowbox work with Sharepoint Designer or Frontpage? Although the Shadowbox instructions are very clear and self explanatory, I just could not get it work on my web editor. Not everyone has Dreamweaver. Do you know if it works with other web editors?

  • @designerartjewelry In theory Shadowbox will definitely work with other designers. After all, all you are implimenting is some css and javascript code, so as long as your editor supports developing using these languages, you should be fine. Dreamweaver is only acting as a Graphical Interface to type the code in, and because I don't use any of the design tools, providing you places the files in the correct places, you could code this in notepad.

  • I did everything you said and it takes me straight to the pic with no shadow or effects! please let us know if you are using some kind of plug in or if you have a special size or something thanks!!

  • I am not using a plugin. It could be a problem with your browser. Make sure things such as javascript are turned on, and if it still fails try switching to the Google Chrome browser as used in the video.

  • works in mac? :S

  • In theory yes. I do not own a mac so I can't test this, but I am nearly 100% yes.

  • yes, now works :)

  • @andrescastillo7 it does
