I'm 15. In my high school they preached abstinence with out even MENTIONING the WORD condom, birth control or abortion and we were taught that kissing often led to sex. And guess what? We've had at least 3 pregnant girls in my grade so far. If they're not going to teach how to have responsible sex, then at least teach masturbation. It's a healthy alternative. I also hate how these sex ed programs warn girls about boys like we're so vulnerable and stupid and couldn't possibly ENJOY sex. Ugh!

I had to go to Catholic school, and in it we got abstainence-only sex ed. We were supposed to be "Sexually Mature, Aware, Responsible Teens". The cards were passed out... we were to sign them, and did because the teacher and chaplain were watching... and then threw them in the dustbin on the way out. Even then, we knew it was bullshit.

I've always thought that abstinence only was absolute crap. Kids will be kids and part of growing up is experimenting. The best thing we can do for our kids is to give them the needed knowledge to be safe as they grow.
