I have inoperable degenerative spinal disk disease. I must have opiods in order to survive.I'm made to feel like a drug addict. I feel that many drugs should be legalized. This so called war on drugs has been a huge waste of time and money. Billions have been poured into an unsuccessful program that is impossible to achieve. Want to end a lot of drug use? Improve the economy, improve living standards. Treatment is cheaper than incarceration and I suspect more successful. Give people hope.

There's one very strong argument for keeping at least the really bad drugs illegal, and that's how they can cause people to become a danger to themselves and others. There should absolutely be laws against a drug that would cause a person to legitimately believe that their neighbors are zombies and must have their heads cut off to save the planet. Things like acid, PCP, opium etc cannot be used responsibly, and that's why they're illegal.

@xFishera247 I smoked weed all throughout highschool and into sophmore year of college. I eventually quit and got a degree. Most of my friends still smoke weed and they have their college degrees. I've been around and have been offered shrooms coke, etc and I have always declined them. Frankly, I cannot stand weed nowadays, but i support anyone who wants to smoke. It is about SELF-control. If you lack that ability, it doesn't mean you demand infringement on other peoples freedoms.

I have inoperable degenerative spinal disk disease. I must have opiods in order to survive.I'm made to feel like a drug addict. I feel that many drugs should be legalized. This so called war on drugs has been a huge waste of time and money. Billions have been poured into an unsuccessful program that is impossible to achieve. Want to end a lot of drug use? Improve the economy, improve living standards. Treatment is cheaper than incarceration and I suspect more successful. Give people hope.

The third argument has a problem. No your not required by the govt. to be a productive individual, but our govt. has entitlements and welfare. In this country there's a safety net for unproductive people paid for by the productive people. Want to legalize drugs? Deny welfare to individuals who fail mandatory drug tests, and stiffen the penalty for crimes where drugs are involved. You wanna get high? Don't ask me to pay for you, get into a car accident while stoned minimum 5 year sentence.

I personally didn't touch the heroine, but if i had never smoked bud, i would have never come across anything like those nor would have tried any of those in my wildest dreams. You oobviously either don't smoke, smoke alone, or have a boring bunch of friends to smoke with.

There's one very strong argument for keeping at least the really bad drugs illegal, and that's how they can cause people to become a danger to themselves and others. There should absolutely be laws against a drug that would cause a person to legitimately believe that their neighbors are zombies and must have their heads cut off to save the planet. Things like acid, PCP, opium etc cannot be used responsibly, and that's why they're illegal.

We Live in a world of chemicals - some are man-made others are natural like THC from pot or caffeine from tea or coffee. If you eat too much red meat & ice cream you could have a heart attack. @BNAHUlVl Crime isn't cause by one single factor, if you were to consider any factor of them the the highest contribution to crime comes down to economics and jobs. In places where there is less economic prosperity like urban areas, you see higher rates or crime because their is less policing, tax money going to use, lack of jobs, and an attitude of anti-government because no one is looking out for them, not just drugs.

@kris8293 actually, a drug is any substance that alters normal bodily function. marijuana is definitely a drug, so is shrooms. with that being said, however, marijuana and shrooms are chemically safe compared to most, if not all, synthetic drugs.
