If you spread out your zealots all the one and somehow get 1 to attack each tank, the tnaks would get splash damage from eachother and that would do a lot of damage too
you have forgotten one thing: tanks are used in defencive mesures, meaning they will placed behind wall of buildings, up cliffs, and other un reachable places. the only true way it to sound them from all angles, reducing slash damage. thoe you will need 3 infantry units per tank, it is my perfered tactice on taking them out (using reapers is very affective)
@booSackk no, i mean outside of seige mode, they are uterly useless, even a single marauder/stalker can kill it. even in sc1 a detected dark templar can uterly anhilate it. but it was made to have seige mode, and its kind of obvious to move it up during a attle closer to the enemy base
What if you sent two zealots on each tank instead? I guess it's too much management? Oh and yes, i realize 6x2 doesn't make 10 so you nit picky people need not point it out :D
Sorry, off topic but can you queue up the "enter siege mode" comman on a siege tank by holding shift? I swear I've tried it before unsuccessfully but you're either really deft at splitting and sieging or you queued each one.
@Shinokun In that case, you have siege tanks firing at your zealots while they move in to engage the marines, so minimizing splash is relevant.
Besides, tanks are actually quite a bit more durable than marines once you stim them once and considering the dangers of splashing your own marines with tank fire. When you consider basically any tank attack in TVP is an all in with no transition to a mid or lategame, it makes sense to have your tanks forwards, while your marines are hiding behind.
@timmietimmins No, that's a horrible idea. Marines are easily replenishable. Tanks become non-cost effective once a melee unit reaches it. The only time you want your marinesbehind your tanks are when they have HT or your playing TvZ against Banes. If you're considering late game, you'd want to save your tanks. But I agree with tanks/marines/banshees are all-in-y right now in TvP
We are currently watching a video, where 1k minerals worth of zealots, the protoss mineral dump, walk over 6 spread siege tanks (900/750), while losing FOUR zealots.
Look at the video. That is why you have zero incentive to save tanks. If you have bio, tanks stop you from kiting, and zealots will just a-move over them and splash your own marines. Using tanks in TVP, you ARE all in and you have no incentive to keep your tanks alive. If you stay on tanks, you lose in the lategame.
@Shinokun Plus, of course, this is not even properly spread zealots. In a real game scenario, you don't attack a specific tank, you a-move your zealots behind the terran army and they stay spread out,, further making splash damage a liability. In this video, when the zealots went in, all 10 of them grouped up on a single front tank because they were told to attack it instead of the ground behind it.
of course you leave tanks out by themselves for them to have that sacrificial unit. ask zerg how hard it is to sac roaches when marines are there for support.
love how you incorporate humor with useful information, those two traits you conduct your videos with really show how great of a caster you are, thanks for the tip and i'll be watching all your videos in the future
@N4trambl1k in big tournaments you could have seen that you can play mass bio vs mass mech. with alot of drop play tho. in any case, there are quite a lot of instances where marauders are the hard counter to tanks

@nroland99 lmao ur retarded, if tanks are used defensively in ur situation, then back up and expand
but when they do go on the offensive this is a way to break it duh

Smater players will try to micro the Siege Tanks to hit the middle of the mass, but still, this is a great strategy. Excellent vid.

@Fridgerage THat's why My brood lords are followed by ~100 speed lings or 10 banelings burrowed near the brood lords

Not very realistic. Unless it's a light contain, the terrain is going to have a composition of tanks with marines/hellions.
But helpful to know known the less.
