m5 is nice but i do prefer the m6, my friend let me drive his m6 and i was in love. Thats why they try to make cars with small engines more powerful by adding variable valve timing and turbo's; otherwise they would probably be making vehicles with bigger engines, Americans also make vehicles with smaller engines hence dodge neon srt4? Ford focus? they all have a good deal of power for their engine size.
I've had my 08 Si for 2 years now, and have to say it is easily the best car ever created for the low 20k range. Tc, Corolla S, GTI, Lancer... none of these can even be considered as competition for the Si. GTIs are cows stock, I don't know what that guy a few comments below was talking about; they're slower than an Si stock, not to mention hideous. I have some mods on my Si and I have some videos on my page if anyone is interested.
stock, this thing sounds amazing. it will turn heads for sure. w/ an intake, the sound is so awesome. it even sounds great when barely entering a freeway=)
coupe is 60 pounds lighter (at least 06/07 modles) than the 4 door.....(not enough to make noticeable difference....and the 4 door has slightly better weight distribution making better handling but again, not noticeable difference.
This car has the worst blind spots, all the way around, of any car I have ever driven. The A pillar blinds you in most corners. Its handles well but you cant see where your going. Complete and total lack of low end power. Absolutly nothing till VTEC. The whole car feels like a tin can. My friend bought one and sold it within 6mo. Way too much money for a tuna can. Not impressed at all. Buy a GTI, or WRX with your money. Much nicer cars in every way ,but fuel economy, they actualy have torque.

check your local used car magazine from the grocery store. Many Honda civics price value drops dramatically after 1-2 years. New price is $20k after that its not even worth holding on to. If your gonna buy a car get something worth holding onto unless you are on a budget.

I love my Si. He mentions the FA5 is good for putting dogs in the back. My Rottweiler comes first before any other passengers so that's why I took the passenger seat out and laid a custom cut flat floor in place for her. It's funny to pull up to a stop light and have someone look over and all of a sudden my Rottweilers huge heads pops up and looks over at the people and smiles. :)
It dosent matter if your 18 or not, it matters if you have had 3 years of driving experience (excluding a learners permit) if you havent, dont even think about the car unless you have tons of money, your insurance payment will be more then the car payment.

It is in fact advertized more worldwide, since the 2 door is a non-jap spec for a civic. All jap civics are 4 door for this gen at least. Still got my 7h gen coup3 in 5spd manual (not si), but a good project car
I have a 99' Civic and im only 18. I think the newer Si's are not made for the people looking for 400 HP and enough torque to put you on you ass. Yes there fast because V-tech is one of the better engines out there, but Civic lovers know what there getting with an Si. A beautiful, speedy car that is fun, non gas guzler, and pretty good on insurance. Im not complaining with that.

8th generation civic si rocks, just bought mines a week ago and it's pleasant to drive around in it, mines a Habanero Red. I've read most of the comments random people posted and the first one i came across was the insurance rate, well i just estimated mines, and mines going to be $1,260 a year, because the car is under my brother's insurance, which im paying $105 a moth(full coverage). Also 3rd gear does get complex sometimes but i think i'll manage. So overall rating 10/10!!! haha
just FYI, if its a 06/07, they have had problems with the manual tranny's. Its a problem that Honda recognizes, and will fix for free if you take it to a dealer. I just had my Si's 3rd gear refurbed last week, and now its sooooo buttery smooth.

subaru (more importantly the impreza) is designed for function, not looks. the 4door hatch back is better suited to rally racing because it has less of an overhang in the rear. and a civic, is far from an austin martin. these cars are lucky to break into the 14s with an average driver. they have less than 140ftlbs of torque and have a 0-60 time equal to a small truck.
i've been sold on the si for about a year now, ever since my wife got her cr-v (which is still a blast to drive in and of itself!) i'll be sad to see my beloved jeep go, but happy to get back into a little car again to more effectively deal with this blasted city traffic...

8th generation civic si rocks, just bought mines a week ago and it's pleasant to drive around in it, mines a Habanero Red. I've read most of the comments random people posted and the first one i came across was the insurance rate, well i just estimated mines, and mines going to be $1,260 a year, because the car is under my brother's insurance, which im paying $105 a moth(full coverage). Also 3rd gear does get complex sometimes but i think i'll manage. So overall rating 10/10!!! haha

just FYI, if its a 06/07, they have had problems with the manual tranny's. Its a problem that Honda recognizes, and will fix for free if you take it to a dealer. I just had my Si's 3rd gear refurbed last week, and now its sooooo buttery smooth.

i checked with my insurance company because starting next year i will need insurance on my own and they quoted me at 160 per month...mine is an 06 Civic Si and i am 24 years old. My driving record is decent, with like 2 tickets since i started driving. That comes out to $1920 per year...oh and also the numbers i give represent those in Alberta, Canada.

actually yes... there was a bulletin put out that 3rd gear pops out... honda will fix it for you.... it happened to me. after i got it fixed, i still have a bit of a problem with 3rd still.

subaru (more importantly the impreza) is designed for function, not looks. the 4door hatch back is better suited to rally racing because it has less of an overhang in the rear. and a civic, is far from an austin martin. these cars are lucky to break into the 14s with an average driver. they have less than 140ftlbs of torque and have a 0-60 time equal to a small truck.

Hate to tell the gm corvette lovers this but yes it can and has happened. I know a k20 civic thats pushing 530 whp and will tear a vette apart. Also hate to tell you but the vette has always been one of the ugliest cars on the road, it has improved a little since the new design came out but its still not great. Also have fun with your chevys when they break down constantly. A smart person buys the honda fun to drive, good on gas, quick...with potential to be very fast, and cheaper insurance.

Honda styling is soo sterile. I really hate the "star Trek" dash! The body is plain and makes my wang go limp. I never do a double take when I seen one. High revving, low torque engines get old quick. It's nothing compared to my Mazdaspeed3. Just compare body lines, wheels, interiors, etc. OK, Honda's ARE reliable, I give you that!

Your not thinking very straight. 1 nitrous is easy, two, turbo is definetly not out. im not sure about a superchargers, but either way, a 2.0 4 banger turbo is not going to beat a 5 litre v8 with any type of forced injection.
