That second jump was borderline suicide even with no wind. That pedestrian bridge totally blocks his ability to see the landing ramp until he is over it. Part of making a good motorcycle jump is always looking at your landing area while in motion and speeding up or slowing down to calculate how that bike is going to land on the other end. Even with practice not seeing the landing zone is like jumping that same ramp in total darkness and hoping you hit the other end.

Laswell.. RIP. That guy was crazy to even to attempt that jump. Just look at the flag with that crosswind. I saw an article soon after the crash. Laswell was worried about the wind according to the last person to talk to him. He replied "you don't have to jump if you don't want to." But he jumped anyway. Too bad.
