I can't get over how great the writing is in this show. Not to mention the acting being perfect, the cast brilliant and the cinematography was great! Such an epic modern version of Sherlock Holmes. I have avoided Sherlock too, thinking it a typical investigative series, with a new version coming out just to try suck a little more money out of the story. I have been missing out for a long time!

love the show!! sherlock is even more quick and formidable now, with all the info and modern gadgetry at his disposal. despite all the technology, it never feels out of place, sherlock is still sherlock, recognizable as ever, and i think the series couldn't be more true to who holmes is and how he thinks, not to mention his trusty comrade, watson, who i think was also cast perfectly

I just can't get enough of Benedict! I even wrote a series of Sherlock, even though the BBC don't accept scripts from shows that are already made. Just a shame really :( Love Benedict :) My favourite project from him has to be Sherlock + Hawking :) x

know sherlock well, this is a great updated version and about time. The fast pace and almost lunatic genius of S is appropriate and makes for compelling TV. Had to rewind a couple of time to catch the dialogue. Mark Gatiss = a fab Mycroft. Who the hell is Moriarty? Don't let them be dull, or pretty, evil is much more entertaining.

He has blue eyes. They do appear brown in this interview, but that could be because of the distance of the camera; or the lighting; or the clothes he's wearing.

When I watched Sherlock I was blown away because it's blatantly still about Sherlock's genius but it's no longer bothering with the taudry csi routine, this is a detective show about a man trying to solve a problem, catching the killer is just a by product. I am now a Sherlock Holmes fan after so long avoiding it for being a dull period piece. Benedict Cumberbatch is Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman is the perfect Watson. The writing was excellent as well, nicely familiar too.

@farshnuke I agree 100%. I love the fact it's about Sherlock. I never could get into those CSI and Law & Order shows. As the new Sherlock would think...boring, dull.
