Classic. Remember seeing it playing for the first time back in the mid 80's in my local WHSmith when they had computers on display and being in awe of the 3d perspective graphics. A later game called Head Over Heels, which used the same kind of graphics was also good but that may have been the Commodore 64 i played that on!? Cheers for posting.
For its day, this game was really quite advanced. I never liked this type of game. Endless rooms, no save game function. You could play for hours, lose your last life at the end of the game and you're right back to the beginning. I just found them frustrating...but they were well done.
I have such fond memories of playing this game. It could be extremely frustrating, but it gave hours and hours and hours of addictive fun. Loved it. Probably my favourite spectrum game of all. Great to see it playing once more, thanks for posting SF. 5*
It's my most played game and I still dig it out every now and again. Plus there isn't a single bug in the game. As close to perfection as you can get.
Thank you Sir! Why bother with O'levels when you know you're intelligent. The room at 2:03 looks like it may contain an object because of the look of it but there is nothing there.
Gosh,I remember the hours I spent working on this game, mapping out the whole complex, storing the items near the wizards room, training myself up to beat all of the puzzles, and at the end!!! A disappointing little door opens to show a tiny view of the outside world. A bit of an anti-climax, but a great, ground breaking game.
I can remember when this came out and I think a lot of people were amazed how the Spectrum could do this. All in 48k. Kind of like the 4 minute mile (ok not as momentous!) but it opened the door for all those other 3D games to come through. You know what I mean!
Remember the silly cardboard boxes these came in? I actually bought this. Think is was a whopping £9.99. Could never get my head around these games.
Spinny how u so good at this? Have you a walk thru or just played it for ages? You know which rooms and where to jump etc. It's kinda scary. Makes me want to down this 3 litre bottle in record time.
damn i remember this well, always got lost though.nice one ..

In some scenes the performance go lower. Have you tried to see the FPS with fraps enabled?

Amazing to think all of these incredible old games were written in assembly language.

I was never that keen on this game. Impressed yes, but I just never really liked it. Dunno why. Amazing graphics engine 'filmation' though. Nice vid.

So far ahead of other games at the time. A Spectrum classic without a doubt! Yep, it's still got it big style. In my top ten of speccy games anyway.

That was a pleasant hands-free stroll; I used to chill-out at this place instead of revising for my O' Levels in 1985.
You've mastered just about every routine there! I seem to remember dashing through the room at 2:03 as well, why was that...?

At least your mapping and dedication paid off, even if you were slightly disappointed. A great game nontheless!

This was amazing for its time. Then came the other games from Ocean who took over from Ultimate and produced some great 3D games.
