  • Faith No More - before or after The Real Thing ??

  • You are the star!!!!

  • Patton = Dog-shit

  • Fuck the norm. Fuck rehashed shit. Props to Patton.

  • the last three seconds said it all.

  • i have to say i often skip the noise bits in bungle...i love everything else. I know the purists will think its sinful but fuck it

  • lol

  • "I just want to turn a fucking knob and have it make a hideous racket"

that is the best thing i have ever heard

  • noise.. noise.. noids and more noisesss. ka... patton rules ka...

  • what is this documentary called?

  • did patton do all the bends used in fantomas songs himself?

    this man is a god.

  • Morons! Music is subjective! When will you humans learn this basic concept?

  • as soon as you show us, oh superior one

    (read: sarcasm)

  • Circuit Bending among other similar stuff is the same for me. I'm not wired in that way to get deep into it, (in a technical sense), but I wholly appreciate the results.

  • Turn a fucking knob and make a hideous racket. That's what I'm talking about. Beauty within chaos. I just love sound.

  • exactly...

  • @Sybreed : Well, he's doing it now, and he's doing it amazingly, of course. Check out the cover that FNM has been playing of "Ben".

  • At 0:17 it sounds like Mick Barr is somewhere off camera playing a little riff from Ov.

  • I appreciate Mike for what he has contributed to an otherwise stagnant scene; there aren't many of his kind left anymore :(

Too bad most people just want him to sing commercial stuff and not explore the musical frontier like the greats before him...Long Live Frank Zappa!!

  • Lucky Dragons, Animal Collective, Wavves

  • It's just so validating for me. Patton's got this ego stigma thing goin but he's basically calling it as so many of us (especially me) have been thinking it. That's why he drives a Rolls. And that's also why he's so influential. Fuck the ego thing. He's Patton for a reason. Cheers.

  • Right, Patton's music is not hard to figure out. Obviously the music isn't that aesthetically pleasing in terms of beauty or musicianship (except Faith No More and his other less experimental works). What's at play here is nothing more or less than sheer vocal talent. To understand why we like "a guy making clicking noises really fast" all you have to realise is that he can. He can perform almost every vocal technique I've ever heard of and we simply appreciate that. See? Not hard.

  • haha stop wasting your time,

if you like patton - great, if you dont - oh well.

    ITS ONLY MUSIC.

Nothings going to change by idiots thinking they know everything!

  • I LOVE Mike Patton...but I also LOVE Axl. Sorry.

  • I find some of Patton's stuff a bit pretentious, but if it interests and entertains him then fine. He's earned the right to fuck about and do all different kinds of music - good for him

  • i love the commentson this vide ;>

  • Im willing to bet that 90% of you faggots are religious too.

  • Hahaha well it's a pity your friend is trying to look cool listening to music that he likes because oh man is that just a terrible. Circuit bending isn't my thing, but if you knew half the shit Patton is capable of, you'd realize why he has so many fans. I'm also positive that whatever you listen to makes you look like a faggot and a dipshit, not to me, but I'm sure you're hated by somebody for it. Also, 90% of us religious? Hahaha where's the connection between circuit bending and a God?

  • Ok fine, i'll do that...the only fag here is you cuz you give too many shits about what folks listen to, you leave like 50 comments whining over you're friend's taste in music and bullshit spew about religion with no back evidence. I also said I don't listen to circuit bending so insulting me for listening to it makes no sense. Though it's not hard to understand why people like it, because thats how music works idiot, people like it. Only a fruitcake like you wouldn't get how that shit works.

  • Oh and rabadooda, not everyone who listens to Mike Patton is religious. I'm so not that I make videos about my atheism. I know another guy that does the same thing here on YouTube. So I really don't know where you got this idea that "everyone who likes Patton is religious" from. If you're friend is, that's cool, but I don't see how he stereotypes the typical Patton fan (although I wouldn't call myself a fan because fans tend to blind themselves to other types of music).

  • So looking by your logic that means that everyone who listens to music like this is an outcast and therefore implying that we shouldn't listen to it at all because by doing that we are trying to look cool and not enjoying the music. Then why do bands like this even bother making music? If like you said people just listen to it to be cool? No dumbass people listen to it cause they like it why the fuck would patton bother if he knew no one would buy it. Jesus your a fucking moron.

  • cock

  • perfect. patton gets it

  • y'know, i get the idea that Mike Patton is the coolest guy alive.

  • eye less than three patton

  • hahaha Oh Mike Patton, he is awesome

  • The simplest stuff is often the best. A wah pedal is just a beefed up tone knob, really

  • PATTON FOR PRESIDENT! lol

  • can you circuit bend onto vocals? or even onto your guitar while playing it? Is that possible?

  • wow, do some research people. circuit bending is just one of the coolest ways to make loud annoying music that will make your friends give you weird looks.

  • circut bending is cheep and fun

  • Mike Patton is cool.

  • @clutchkirby HE'S A DOUCHE BAG

  • ahaha turn a fuckin knob.. hideous racket

  • You got it all wrong, he's talking about being scared to learn music, thinking that you have to know what you are doing to have fun, just grab something and have fun... its all about not caring and having fun.

  • To continue since I hit the friggin button and cleared my comment....If it didn't show up....

Go Google for Reed Ghazala, he's the guy who kicked off the circuit beding thing but his stuff's pretty tech-heavy to understand. "Suspended Animation" by Fantomas is FULL of bent equipment, patricularly a modified Texas Instruments Speak N' Spell.

  • de q xuxa mike sta hablando?? jajaja

  • circuit bending is nothing specific other than the general practice of something like... say an electronic kids toy... something with a at least a 2bit dsp chip on the board..

so experiment w/ different ways to manipulate the signal flow on the board so as to hack the resulting audible events produced by it. its pretty silly actually... i'm sure there's plenty of examples of it on this site... have a look

  • Wow, this could have been about anything had it not been in the description o.O

  • what nob? and whats circuit bending....is that sumthing he has in his equipment set up (haha sounds like he is going into combat...hey thats right...he's General patton too...nvm, 4 get i said that)

  • So why on earth are you watching his videos? Tsk, tsk...

  • what do you mean?

  • That fucking nob sure makes a hideous racket!

  • Hahahaha....circuit bending..whatta laugh.

  • hey where was this?

  • whats the goofball talking about here?

  • circuit bending I think.
