I prefer bikes to cars (I also do for the real thing as well, only had 2 cars but over 20 motorbikes). RC bikes are more difficult to control, but much more satisfying when you get them right!

Me and my friend converted one of the thundertiger electric bikes into a nitro it took us three weeks but it goes lol we used the engine out of a small wind hobby monster truck and just sat it in then had ot cut and brace the chassis to take it properly. it's a hard thing to drive though... it's a bit too quick it flips back when you put the power down.

It's no more a pain than any other nitro vehical. The nitro bike will wheelie out of the box, the electric won't.

I've upgraded it now with lipo batteries and a brushless motor. Now it's a lot faster than the Nitro one!

I usually get a hairdryer on em for 10 minutes before i start it. obviously in this situation that wouldn't have been possible :D.

I don't think I worked it out. Electrics are quicker and more convienient, Nitro's make a fantastic noise and produce smoke and are like having a real miniture motorbike. For me heart says Nitro, head says electric. I'm lucky enough to have both.

It's unbelievable how much physics a real bike involve, lots of people don't even know why they can take corners just by leaning.If you put all that in RC....It's wonderful!To pilot an RC bike in tracks requires much more skills than cars by far, and also to record a video like this when you are alone.Cheers

Thunder Tiger or Nuova Faor are the easiest to get. formbymodels dot com is the place to go.

The thunder tiger is ready to run. The Nuova Faor bikes will need a radio and servos and are more expensive (but are much better handling). See my other videos!

As far as I know with the Thunder Tiger you would need to buy fuel, a glow starter, a battery and charger for the reciever and 8 AA batteries for the transmitter.

With the Nuova Faor. you would have to buy all of the above plus a transmitter, reciever and servos and you would have to stick them into it.

oh also, I figured out... its not so much the smoke coming out that makes it more real its the motor noise itself, put the other sound effect over the top of the electric and you see. So your right ... if purchasing RC bike go petrol.. no-one makes sound modules do they?.. but then more batteries or power added +weight of module alone.. oh well.

unfair comparison, put a mamba 4800 540 class in the electric. and then tell me the slow and finicky petrol burner is better... plus AC has a tougher sounding tone than baby 2 strokes. and personally i dont like exhaust smoke. wheelspinning smoke would b better and visible if its electric.

I now have fitted an mtroniks gen ride to the electric tt and it is much faster than the nitro. No contest. However it's much more expensive and very fiddly to set up. It's also a lot more difficult to pilot. Very twitchy. I ride real bikes and nitros seem more real!

You program it by moving the stick backwards and forwards when you get into =set up mode. Very fiddly. I have a maba max in my ricky bike which is usb and much easier to set up, but not as fast. You can't win!

i dont own an electric bike, but i do know to quikin those turns, to take off the sideplates that are against the wheels(depends which model) but that will quickin turns by not having that plate(s) rubbing on the ground!

Gas or other variants of fuel is better left to the skies...this coming from a turbine heli nut of course.

I like both Thunder Tiger and Nuova Foar bike. The Italian Nuova Foar's are a bit classyer but the body work is rubbish. The Thunder Tigers are well made and cheaper but you need to spend a bit of money on them to get them as quick and sharp as the NF's.

I think the best answer is to fit an 0.18 thunder tiger engine. Formby models are good to help with this.

When this was shot it had a 19t and a 2000mha battery. I found that fitting a 4350mha battery improved the speed. Then I fitted a brushless system and that speeded it up further (see othe videos). I think the bike light be a bit heavyer than a 1/10th car. Also the engine could be a bit knackered. I'm going to put in a Baja Champ soon!
