Grind grind grind? What if there was no grind? You started directly with maxed out characters, would that be fun? It'd be a cs arena. After some hard grinding it's awesome to get out there and PvP! Grind have been reduced A LOT, so stop complaining and go play the fringing game.

What you don't see in this is the long process of skilling your weapons up...very much like the levels they set out to take away from mmo's.. if you want some info, on this game to be able to do anything you need a high skill in range, enough magic to heal yourself well and a high combat skill to be able to really be involved in anything.

@twistedlordi ONly takes 3-4 months of grinding to get to a good enough state to PVP against the pro's, Of course not 1v1 but defiantly in groups, iv been playing since release, got a pretty damn good character, though a friend of mine joined 4 months ago, and which guidance from me and another mate we have him at a level that he's already beating skilled characters than have been playing since release. All because he has the right skills, and we taught him the right tactics.

@sp00l yes but in a game where this is "no levels" a lot of people expected very little grinding, its ended up having to take months to be able to have enough fun on this game without loosing your stuff, the game looked so good when we all first heard of it, the idea of not being held down by levels and being able to just pick up a weapon and go...not the case...grinding on and on...

@twistedlordi What they ment is that your character is not going to be ranked by a level, and what they say is true, you can use any item in the game minutes after spawning in for the first time. You could deck yourself our with full dragon armor, r70 weapons, mounts and all the best attire, just you wont be able you use it effectively right away, which is fine, otherwise the game would be a joke.

@Par4niacRespawn Guild Wars 2 is completely different than WoW, it has dynamic combat, questing, and dynamic boss fights which look fucking awesome. The graphics are far better than any MMORPG I have seen. The only class/profession that comes close to WoW is the ranger. And you don't constantly quest grind like you do in WoW or dungeon run dungeons 20 thousand times. And secondly, how are you going to say it's a WoW clone when you haven't even read up on it?

I played WoW and play WoW you need to give up ur life and it really isn't that free as Darkfall. im downloading the game and i must say that i like it. Cuz no leveling ,ur with ur clan, pirating!, c'mon this will be even bigger than WoW if it continues like this

Darkfall Online is epic. Epic 150vs150 battles... sieges... naval battles... I've been playing since release and I'm still loving it!

If you're looking for a game with tonnes of potential and amazing gameplay... a rough and tough world... kinda like the old UO days back in Felluca.

Make sure you join a fairly decent clan. Half the fun in DF comes from all the clan fighting and going out on raids (against enemy players!)

I would buy it but the full pvp loot will keep this as a niche MMO and as such it will always have a crappy population. MMOs in the past that had this system felt bare and deserted. While the fans they do have tend to be rabid zealots it doesn't create the feeling of a living breathing world.

Yeah. The only games that sorta comes close to what Darkfall is, is EVE Online for a mmo, or Oblivion for a single player. Even then they're not that close either. Darkfall is one of those games which you have to try for yourself.

Officially it's an EU release since the first server is in Europe but there's nothing stopping you from buying or playing the game if you're in NA. Probably half the players are American, though they have to put up with pings around 300-400 until they set up some US servers.

If you play this game wow becomes more of a interactive screensafer. PVE is not that great in darkfall but the game has politics you wouldnt believe. Propaganda all over the place.

i have the game myself but to be honest it feels like im paying for beta though.

I played WoW for about 4 years, and while I certainly had fun with it (I wouldn't have played it for four years otherwise), it eventually got boring. Because once you hit the level cap, the only way you can do stuff at your level is to raid or farm for the really good gear (this is true of both PvP and PvE). And I just don't like dungeons enough to take the time to raid. This offers something for those of us who don't want to spend the time on raids, as well as a lot more PvP.

Wow. That's the exact opposite of what it takes. In this game you have to live by having 100% skills. In WoW you do quests for "teh ep1x". And you cannot experience not choosing a class, but instead making your own class basicly, you cannot have like 500 profession-like options, you cannot base anything on your own skill, and you cannot fight in first person. So please, shut the fuck up, learn some grammar and go away.
