If we're talking about this tank spose it should be referred to in the 1940s terminology. Could have been artillery piece and i'm pretty sure even the cannons mounted in tanks are still classed as artillery.
There are a couple of armour piercing rounds that make the kind of penetrations seen here:
APCBC: Armour Piercing Capped Ballistic Capped
APDS: Armour Piercing Discarding Sabot
You can type the acronyms into Wikipedia to learn more.
Read "Tank Killers" by Ian Hogg to learn a LOT more.
That is a STuG just like Powerhp said. but as you can tell there are multiple circular holes in the tank. it is kind of an Anti-Tank weapon. not an artillery peice. This particular stug appears to have taken a round to the ammunition rack. hence why the whole internal part of it is blown to serious crap. This is a World War 2 german weapon btw.
hahaha that all, or most of all was made by autogen.. hahaha you all are such a bunch of ....... hahaha i think, that was pretty normal tank which has been taken as a trophy, where later for same stupid propaganda museum purposes was bastarded by autogen from some antieverything propagandist.. hahaha
be aware tho...this tank has had simulated damage done to it for display purposes...all done with a torch!!!..there is no actual battle damage to this vehicle!.
originally brought to Canada after Ww2 for evaluation, it ended its life already stripped and damaged on a firing range..the museum eventually got hold of it and rather than go to the expense of restoring it, cosmetically damaged it in a lifesize display to generically show the "end" of a tank in battle!!.
its a Sturmgeschütz III (StuG III) assault gun was Germany's most produced armoured fighting vehicle during World War II. It was built on the chassis of the proven Panzer III tank. Initially intended as a mobile, armoured light gun for infantry support, the StuG was continually modified and was widely employed as a tank destroyer.

are you serious? where can I find info on this particular tank?
slopedarmor 3 years ago
examine the vid carefully..there is no actual "explosion" damage from any fired round.
Its all been carefully cut with a gas axe..then areas of armour have been physically bent to simulate shell strikes!!
