if you read the book by jean ritchie regarding myra hindley, you will find out this fact for yourself, unfortunately, josie is no longer with us, she committed suicide while in prison several years later, but she was the only one who broke myra hindley's nose, kick out ligaments in her thigh and try and push her over the "mesh", the "mesh" is the barbed wire which divides landings in prisons....she was eighteen when she attacked Hindley back in Holloway in the seventies...
One of the original senior detectives later recalled: "I'd never believed in capital punishment before, but after hearing that tape, I'd have gladly put the rope round those two bastard's necks myself"

I could probably work out her Mancunian accent for you. She was a high level valium addict for most of her life - increased dose as time went on.. I have courtroom transcript of tapes - her version is fantasy - she only heard enuff to identify fhe voice. Worth reading Ian Brady's "The Gates of Janus"- a psychogical analysis & history of serial kiliers. a powerfully intellectual book..

No dear, she was prescribed sleeping tablets after she had to endure losing a child, then having to view naked pictures of her child, then having to identifying her body, and then having to hear her little girl scream for her over a tape.
I would rather listen to Ann West than hear anything from that monster Brady.
Well said... I actually remember about twenty or so years ago the daily mail printed some of the transcripts from the tape. How awful for a mother to hear her child calling for her, and to know she couldn't help.
This part of the docmumentry shows an image of Lesley Ann Downey, gagged by the monsters Brady/Hindley. Coupled with such a loving picture of this little gir and her mother. Quite an intense documentry. BUT It had to be shown. If it could convince the few supports Hindley had that she deserved to rot in jail, it had to be shown.
ABSOLUTELY! Seeing the HORRIFIC photos of Edward Evans corpse (in the previous segment) was sickening, but no decent human being could argue for the release of these two SLUGS after witnessing the carnage they wrought. I can't BELIVE anybody thought life in prison too harsh. You couldn't visit such cruelty on a DOG and find sympathy. My only complaint? Cremation would have served Hindley better had it been preformed 22 years sooner... Preferably with flame throwers!
Hindley only showed a flicker of sadness once during the investigation.. it was when her dog died. The vet needed to establish it's age an after it died, Hinley called the police "Murdering fucking bastards"

Ann West was dying from cancer during this documentry. It would be quite demeaning to her illness to put subtitles underneath her. God bless her.
