The question is, which Jesus Christ do the Mormons believe in? The thousands of denominations, sects, and cults alleging to be Christian all say they believe in Jesus Christ, but they all preach a different gospel and a different Jesus. Paul warned about this nearly 2,000 years ago.
How stupid are you?All you listed is the very few things they beleive which are actually real. You should've posted how they beleive there were previous GodS besides The one and only God!And how they think God was once human but worked his way up to God.Put the false instead of the truth.
@wtflmaoproductions12 how stupid are you, to not realize that the person who posted this would be a mormon? did that seriously never enter you mind? i take it back, you're not stupid. to say that you are stupid would imply that you have the capacity to understand this. NO, you are completely incompetent. go spread your foolish bigotry somewhere els.
A prudent person is never tempted. A doctrinaire knows nothing but temptation. The former understands dangers whereas the latter parrots rules he never questions and therefore never understands. The former learns. The latter sinks into ignorance and zombyism. Most religion is atheism in disguise, bibliolatrous doctrines in place off the will and word of God embedded in his creations. "Fire" and "eternity" are the two most mistranslated words in scripture and cause the fear to question it.
@M424Filmcast Meet Jackoff. He will be one of the biggest clowns you will ever meet on youtube. He, like many online hardcore antis, has dedicated his life to "debunk" LDS at any cost. Do not hold back on this clown. Let your apologetics destroy his futile "arguments".
@blackmamba54321 Yeah, he's blocked. He has already proven he is about as sharp as a bowling ball. Amazing how many times you have to repeat yourself to some of these "edjukated" knuckleheads.
@M424Filmcast well that's christlike. how very holy it is of you to block someone of your potential "truth". Keep up the good work guys, golly gee you're so kind, and are certainly doing God's work......(please note, this is the epitome of sarcasm)
@0311cowboy Yes, it is the Mormon's fault. Of course, yeah, I'm the one who showed up on someone else's forum, not to learn, but to troll around from forum to forum, never asking, but TELLING people what they believe based on propaganda. That must be God's work. I am always ready to just sit back and let people trash my church and just take it...you know, because it's really cool when people do that, and then say they are concerned for my soul. (Sarcasm returned, thanks).
@M424Filmcast you're right, and i am sorry and seek your forgiveness. I have gone about this with the wrong attitude by asserting my feelings with the word of God. it shouldn't be my opinion that you hear. Please, tell me what you believe. Give me detail, not propaganda.
@0311cowboy No prob. I always return respect when it is given. I will gladly tell you what we teach, and what we believe. Just simply ask what you would like to know, one question at a time please, and I will provide you with as much detail as you would like. Please keep in mind, that I may have to return this evening to continue.
@M424Filmcast the questions i will ask, as you could assume, will be based from propaganda. I'm not intending to start a fire or stir the pot. I'm just gonna ask, let you answer, and maybe search for a little more detail if I'm still unclear. I will NOT, give you my opinion, tell you that you are wrong, or become aggressive or condescending. And maybe your brother (blackmamba54321) wouldn't mind giving some input as well (he just got his Priesthood). Looking forward to our conversations.
@0311cowboy Thanks for taking the time to ask questions. I am ready anytime. I will answer each question thoroughly, and though I will answer as soon as possible, I may take a little time here and there, as I am also running a business.
@M424Filmcast completely understandable. I'd rather do this through personal messages on here rather than an open conversation. Mainly because i don't was foolish hearts interjecting their own opinions or ill constructed arguments.
@M424Filmcast Haha, Doing well. Im debating Nasti the Clown (nasticanasta) on the other vid. She wants to way in heavy on the Mountain Meadows Massacre...So I pulled in the crusades and she goes "those were catholics not protestants..." condescending is her favorite tactic. Doin fine BTW, just recieced my Melchizedeck :D
@blackmamba54321 Nasti is a joke. She cannot take more than two seconds to figure out the flaws in her tired arguments. I blocked her a long time ago, when the best she had were some quotes from "the godmakers" of all things. Yeah, Ed Decker...great source of information for the excommunicants.
"Some years ago, I advanced a doctrine with regard to Adam being our father and God, that will be a curse to many of the Elders of Israel because of their folly. With regard to it they yet grovel in darkness and will. It is one of the most glorious revealments of the economy of heaven, yet the world hold derision....."
@Jack44M And you continue to ignore the fact that this is not, was not, and will not ever be doctrine. If it is not in our scriptures, it is not official teaching. Therefore, it is not accepted as true.
In 1980 Ezra Taft Benson insisted that the “living prophet is more vital to us than the standard works.” Joseph Smith and Brigham Young said the same thing.....were they lying?
@Jack44M Ezra Taft Benson was absolutely correct. The reason being, is that a living prophet receives direct revelation, and can lead the church by immediate direction of God the Father, and Jesus the Christ. All three were correct.
This does not preclude the fact that our official DOCTRINE is contained in the scriptures. When a prophet speaks, it becomes official doctrine when placed in the Doctrine & Covenants. Not the Journal of Discourses.
"How much unbelief exists in the minds of the Latter-day Saints in regard to one particular doctrine which is revealed to them, and which God revealed to me -- namely that Adam is our father and God...Our Father Adam is the man who stands at the gate and holds the keys of everlasting life and salvation to all his children who have or ever will come upon the earth"
Brigham Young 6/1/1873
.....you still ignore the question: Did he lead the church astray with his teaching?
@Jack44M I already told you. Regardless of any discourses, this is not, was not, and never will be official doctrine. If it is not official doctrine, it does not lead members astray, because it is not accepted. Would you like me to point out what some "historical christian" teachers claimed as official doctrine in the past? You would be embarrassed, I guarantee it.
@Jack44M And yet another fallacy argument. You are claiming that because some may have believed it, that it was therefore official teaching and doctrine. Wrong again there, scooter!
You are arguing out of pigheadedness. You just don't get it. Don't worry, I understand. It must be really hard to get up every morning and chew through the leather straps on that nice jacket you have to wear....
Please, if you are Mormon look deeply into what cannot be proven and don't take it on faith. Proof for the Bible is all around. Go to the cities written of in the Bible. Study the prophecies in the Bible that have and will continue to come true. "Jesus, come into my life and make me a new creation. I believe You died on the cross and rose on the 3rd day as the scriptures predicted. I need you in my life now and forever, AMEN." Mormonism is an epic fail, THE END.
@RazrsEdge427 Another typical antimormon critic who doesnt' have a clue. Typical antimormon statement, "Don't take what cannot be proven on faith". Hahahaha....can you prove Heaven exists? OH SNAP! Gotta take that on faith....
You cannot prove Mormonism because there is no basis for it's so called facts. There is no metallurgic proof, no geographic proof, archaeologic proof and most important is that there was never recognized by any serious scholar in linguistics ancient reformed egyptian. Kinderhook plates anyone?? What about the Pearl of great Price? Smith claims he translated it from Egyptian papayri. What he actually had was a burial ritual of an Egyptian God. How much more need be said? Jesus is the way.PERIOD!
He said in his own words that he did better than Jesus because Jesus' people ran from him but the mormons never ran away from him. Many rituals and symbology found in Mormonism is from the Masonic rites, sun and moon with faces, square and compass, secret handshakes, temple endowments, etc. Smith himself was a 33rd degree Mason. Some believe he was killed by Masons because he made their sacred rituals public knowledge. The BOM has vast amounts of plagiarism cited, straight from the Bible.
@RazrsEdge427 Again, proof that you don't have a clue. I made other videos on these subjects...why don't you go watch them instead of ASSuming that you know something.
Joseph Smith tried to rewrite the Bible by adding himself into it. He wanted many wives so he said his god told him to do it. He tried to break away from the United States and even made a new money only for Mormons. He said the moon was made of cheese and that we would one day find people living there. no one ever saw the plates of gold and in the Americas there is no proof for the millions of people that were supposedly here or the wars or the armor or anything else.
@RazrsEdge427 This is the most ridiculous comment I've ever seen. You are now bordering on stupidity here. Moon made of cheese? What cartoons are you watching?
One of the clearest examples of Smith's failed "inspired" version.
He rewrote Isa 65:1 to read:
"I am found of them who seek after me, I give unto all them that ask of me; I am not found of them that sought me not, or that inquireth not after me."
Then, when he rewrote Rom 10:20 and quoted Isa 65:1, he said the OPPOSITE:
"But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me."
@Jack44M You need to understand what the Inspired Versions purpose was. If you are insinuating that no one can find problems with the current Bible, and the translations that have been made, you are deluded.
According to Smith, it was intended to restore “many important points touching the salvation of men, [that] had been taken from the Bible, or lost before it was compiled.-- Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, 2/16/1832
What important points did it restore and why does it have contradictions?
You forgot to expose how Mormons belive the will become gods living on their on planet with thousands of goddess wives rule over their own planets and spawn spirit babies for all eternity. You also forgot to mention how Doctrine and Covenants teaches that any man who does not marry more than one wife can not enter into the celestial kingdom. You forgot to mention that Brigham Young said that the punishment for any Mormon marrying a negro is death on the spot. Joe Smith was on occultist/mason.
@GiveMeLiberty3 You forgot to mention that you have done no study outside of antimormon propaganda, and that you take anything anyone says as official teaching of the church. You forgot to mention that you don't know what we really teach. You forgot to mention that you sound like a playground child like the rest of the anti's by calling Joseph "Joe".
@M424Filmcast Listen there was is no nephi or lehi. There where no horses in America either. And where are the archeological remains of all those huge battles, or cities, or gold coins? They were never there. There was a Jupiter talasman found on Josephs person after he died. What a very Chritian thing for a man to keep with him. Not to mention he was a high ranking Mormon and based temple rituals on on masonic rites. I wont attack you personally. Im not your enemy.
@M424Filmcast Im a Cuban-American. I live in South Florida. There arent many Mormons here. Ive only known three in my whole life. All three of them where my friends, we had alot in common like our conservative values and love of history. They where good people. I respect them. We always got along. Im not here to insult you. You call me a child but your the one attacking me personally, someone you dont even know. If your interested in a debate then tell me so. If not then dont.
@GiveMeLiberty3 I never called you a child. I said you were acting like a child. Big difference. I will gladly debate you. One question at a time, and I will respect you if you respect me. Accusatory comments, or silly attacks will not work. Please read my profile before deciding to ask any questions.
@Jack44M I would love to see you post verifiable evidence of the tablets containing the Ten Commandments. How about verifiable evidence of Noah's Ark, or Jonah being swallowed by a whale, or talking snakes in Eden?
And yes, I will deny your silly strawman attack. There is no verifiable evidence other than third and fourth hand accounts of your ridiculous statement.
He's not taking anything anyone says....he's taking what the Prophet, Seer, and Revelator (Brigham Young) taught in General Conference for over 20 years. Young taught Adam/God and said he got it straight from God. Was he lying and leading the membership astray?
@Jack44M So now fallacy arguments are the best you critics have? Brigham Young's theory of Adam/God was never, nor is it now, official doctrine. Official doctrine is only contained in the scriptures. You have no idea how silly you look.
Where did I say it was "official doctrine"? I said he TAUGHT it as doctrine and claimed God revealed it to him. The question remains....did he lead the church astray with his teachings?
@Jack44M He did not teach it as doctrine. He was expressing his opinion. This is why it is not included in our standard works. Brigham knew, just as any of us know, that opinion differs from prophecy. That's why no one was led astray.
I do not believe that God, aka "Elohim," had myriad goddess wives with whom he kept having sex and creating countless babies, I do not believe that Elohim was Adam and Eve was one of his goddess wives, I do not believe that Jesus had three wives and several children, from one of whom Joseph Smith is descended, nor that Jesus travelled to the Americas after his resurrection, nor that Adam Smith will sit with Elohim and Jesus at the Final Judgment. What insane ravings! Creepy!
Joseph Fielding Smith, 10th prophet of the Mormon church wrote, "But man may commit certain grievous sins - according to his light and knowledge - that will place him beyond the reach of the atoning blood of Christ. If then he would be saved he must make sacrifice of his own life to atone ... for the blood of Christ alone under certain circumstances will not avail".
Core Bible doctrine, which Paul preached, states that only by faith in Jesus Christ, does one receive (not earn) salvation.
@scatignani You are quoting his opinion, not prophecy or doctrine. If I was to quote every christian leader of the past, you would say the same thing. Your logic works against you just as well as you think it works against me.
How much of these cults like Heaven's Gate, People's Temple, Scientology, Children Of God, and Mormonism, have used techniques from the CIA's MK Ultra mind control program? We know that all organized religions, especially the three that rose out of the male dominated societies of the Middle East, use various forms of intimidation, dogma, and the threat of being cast out, to control their parishioners. All of these "religions" are tax exempt, and yet influence politics!
@FalseFlag369 We do not by any means use any kind of mind control programs or techniques. You sound like someone who goes around wearing aluminum foil on your head to protect you from alien and government satellite mind control....*sigh*
OK, so you pointed out a number of areas where LDS teaching is in accord with the Bible but you failed to point out any of the many areas where it is not.
The fact remains the Mormon church teaches many things that are extra-biblical i.e. no Biblical basis whatsoever.
The Mormon church also teaches doctrines which directly contradict the Bible for i.e. the doctrine of exaltation.
Your video is good propaganda but it does not address the many differences between Christianity and Mormonism.
@ShinobiWaNeko said: "Your video is good propaganda but it does not address the many differences between Christianity and Mormonism."
Answer: The antimormon materials, websites, and books you are using to learn about us makes as much sense as me going to Ford to learn about Apple computers. Good propaganda, but no substance.
@manaen1lds Mainstream christians don't like these verses. And they don't know that the early Christian fathers taught this. They don't really look to see how much their teachings have changed over the centuries, and how many of the original teachings match our current ones. They instead decide that we are the ones changing, and not them.
Thanks. I disagree with one point. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints literally is Christ's church because he personally restored it through a prophet he called, Joseph Smith. Christ is the main stream of Chistianity. The Church that Christ personally established is mainstream Christianity so members of this Church are the mainstream Christians.
How much other churches and their members disagree is how much THEY are out of mainstream Christianity.
@M424Filmcast Re: "Christians don't like these verses" You grossly take these verses out of context. Being a joint heir and being glorified or becoming like Him does not mean we can become God's, otherwise Isaiah is a lie! I am the LORD, and there is no other, besides me there is no God; Isahiah 45:5
@bubingajv Talk about not understanding the verses you are quoting....
Would you like some examples of what historical christianity taught on this subject? Or would you be afraid to hear what your people taught about this before being VOTED down?
@bubingajv You've got it. Here we go: Irenaeus (ca. AD 115-202)
Saint Irenaeus, who may justly be called the first Biblical theologian among the ancient Christians, was a disciple of the great Polycarp, who was a direct disciple of John the Revelator. Irenaeus is not a heretic or unorthodox in traditional Christian circles, yet he shares a belief in theosis: While man gradually advances and mounts towards perfection; that is, he approaches the eternal.
@bubingajv (cont.) The eternal is perfect; and this is God. Man has first to come into being, then to progress, and by progressing come to manhood, and having reached manhood to increase, and thus increasing to persevere, and persevering to be glorified, and thus see his Lord.
Like the LDS, Irenaeus did not believe that this belief in any way displaced God, Christ, or the Holy Ghost: there is none other called God by the Scriptures except the Father of all, and the Son,
@bubingajv (cont.) and those who possess the adoption....Since, therefore, this is sure and stedfast, that no other God or Lord was announced by the Spirit, except Him who, as God, rules over all, together with His Word, and those who receive the Spirit of adoption.
Yet, Irenaeus—whom it is absurd to exclude from the ranks of orthodox Christians—believed in theosis in terms which agree with LDS thinking on the matter:
@bubingajv (cont.) We were not made gods at our beginning, but first we were made men, then, in the end, gods.
Also:
How then will any be a god, if he has not first been made a man? How can any be perfect when he has only lately been made man? How immortal, if he has not in his mortal nature obeyed his maker? For one's duty is first to observe the discipline of man and thereafter to share in the glory of God.
Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Word of God, of his boundless love, became what we are that he might make us what he himself is.” [9]
And:
But of what gods [does he speak]? [Of those] to whom He says, "I have said, Ye are gods, and all sons of the Most High." To those, no doubt, who have received the grace of the "adoption, by which we cry, Abba Father."”
@bubingajv (cont.) And, Irenaeus considers the doctrine clearly Biblical, just as the LDS do:
For he who holds, without pride and boasting, the true glory (opinion) regarding created things and the Creator, who is the Almighty God of all, and who has granted existence to all; [such an one, ] continuing in His love and subjection, and giving of thanks, shall also receive from Him the greater glory of promotion, looking forward to the time when he shall become like
@bubingajv (cont.) Him who died for him, for He, too, "was made in the likeness of sinful flesh," to condemn sin, and to cast it, as now a condemned thing, away beyond the flesh, but that He might call man forth into His own likeness, assigning him as [His own] imitator to God, and imposing on him His Father's law, in order that he may see God, and granting him power to receive the Father; (cont.)
@bubingajv (cont.) [being] the Word of God who dwelt in man, and became the Son of man, that He might accustom man to receive God, and God to dwell in man, according to the good pleasure of the Father. Said one Protestant theologian of Irenaeus:
Participation in God was carried so far by Irenaeus as to amount to deification. 'We were not made gods in the beginning,'
@M424Filmcast is one of many gods. Teachings of Joseph Smith and Apostle Orson Pratt, The Seer, 1853, p. 132 cont.
You err by relying so heavily on the early church fathers for your support of human godhood. Many of them believed in and debated unscriptural doctrines. For example, Irenaeus believed in the false doctrine of Mariology which is the belief in Mary as co-redeemer and co-mediator.
The fact that many early Christians believed in theosis does not validate it, cont,
@M424Filmcast there were many false beliefs then as there are now among Christians. The early Christians did not have the New Testament as we know it today until almost 400 AD. Today we can easily search and cross reference a topic or doctrine to see if it consistent. That is why God’s word, bible is so important, it is our absolute authority. The trademark of all cults is to discredit and negate God’s infallible word and replace it with “new revelations.” cont.
@bubingajv The Bible makes no claim that it is the only and absolute authority. There is nothing in it that says that it is infallible. I proved you wrong about your churches previous teachings, so you call them false. Yet, you will follow the rest of their teachings. Then you switch subjects. That is called a red herring. Rather than argue the point, I will make another offer. Would you like to hear what your own people say and have said about this new subject? (cont.)
@bubingajv (cont.) My feeling is that I will show you what your own teachers, and christian fathers said on this subject, and you will again dismiss it, and throw out another red herring. Perhaps, you should do the research before making any further statements.
@M424Filmcast The “scriptures” you posted are not scripture at all, but quotations of false beliefs by mere men, no matter how noble and dedicated they were.
The scriptures often used to support the false doctrine of exaltation are:
I said, “You are gods, sons of the Most High… Psalm 82:5-7
Tell us what is to come hereafter, that we may know that you are gods; do good, or do harm, that we may be dismayed and terrified. Isaiah 41:22-24
@M424Filmcast Every mention of “gods” in the bible is referring to them either, in a negative light, as false gods, or kings and leaders as gods.
Read these two verses IN CONTEXT, read it as you would read a letter from your wife or a friend. You will see that the bible is not referring to these “gods” as any cont. type of deity but rather as kings and leaders of the people and are being reprimanded for their unjust concern and care for the people.
@bubingajv There is more to those verses than you are willing to admit. First answer my previous reply in regards to your claims of Biblical infallibility and final authority. I will not address multiple issues at one time.
@bubingajv This does not say the Bible is infallible. It says what God says is infallible. Men translated the Bible, men also took many things from the Bible. Men are not infallible, and the Bible they produced makes no claim of infallibility. You did not answer the question, but instead used a red herring to distract from the actual question.
@M424Filmcast Ahhh but along comes Joseph Smith with his many failed prophesies that would have gotten him stoned to death during the Old Testament times and he speaks truth? Obviously you believe in a very limited god. The writing of the bible did not depend on men as you claim; it was written BY THE HOLY SPIRIT THROUGH MEN. And the Holy Spirit does not make mistakes and leave things out.
@bubingajv Once again, more cut and paste propaganda. There were no failed prophecies. And no, I do not believe in a very limited god. I do not claim that the writing of the bible depended on men. Of course it was through the Holy Spirit. The Spirit does not leave things out, nor make mistakes. But men DID TAKE things out later, and DID make MISTAKES in translation.
@M424Filmcast The bible is not infallible but God’s word is?
How do you separate the two? Didn’t you have to read the bible to understand what God is saying, or does He speak to you in an audible voice? Do you think that the infallible mighty God of the universe is inept and unable to get his message to mankind through his proven prophets of the bible? cont.
@M424Filmcast I strongly suggest that you earnestly study God’s word rather than the early fathers, THE BIBLE INTERPRETS THE BIBLE. If you do you will find a very clear teaching on the character and nature of the one and only living God
God’s word clearly states that there is only ONE God, no gods before Him and no gods after Him. The bible is full of scripture verifying that fact.
@M424Filmcast God was not a product of a former god and goddess before him as Joseph smith taught. I was once a zealous religious Mormon like you; I followed the teachings of the church religiously. I was taught as a child that the LDS church was the one true church and that the bible could not be trusted. A good friend challenged me to read the book of John and the book of Romans. After honestly searching the scriptures I realized that salvation was a free gift and cont.
@M424Filmcast could not be earned. Mormonism had me attempting to pay a debt that had already been paid by Jesus two thousand years and could not be earned by good works and keeping church ordinances as I was taught. Romans 10: 9,10 says If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved cont.
@bubingajv This statement is ridiculous. No Mormon attempts, nor teaches anyone to attempt to pay the debt that Jesus paid. Nor do we earn anything by good works. Sounds to me like you were either not well studied, or you have spent too much time reading antimormon material rather than actually studying what we really teach.
@M424Filmcast You stated in your last reply: “No Mormon attempts, nor teaches anyone to attempt to pay the debt that Jesus paid. Nor do we earn anything by good works.”
The following is the gospel of Mormonism on good works. “GOOD WORKS are necessary for salvation.” (Articles of Faith by James Talmage p. 92)
“Grace is an enabling power that allows men and women to lay hold on eternal life and exaltation AFTER THEY HAVE EXPENDED THEIR OWN BEST EFFORTS.” (LDS dictionary p. 697) cont.
@M424Filmcast The Book of Mormon also says: “We know that it is by grace that we are saved AFTER ALL WE CAN DO.” (2 Nephi 25: 23 )
But the bible teaches:
“For it is by grace you have been saved, THROUGH FAITH and this is NOT FROM YOURSELVES, it is the GIFT of God NOT BY WORKS, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2: 8, 9 “But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, NOT BECAUSE OF RIGHTEOUS THINGS WE HAD DONE, but because of his mercy.” Titus 3:4 cont.
Your choice my friend is to decide who is right, is it Jesus or Joseph Smith? Is it the Bible or the Book of Mormon? They both can’t be right because they teach opposing doctrines as you can see in those verses. I challenge you to read the gospel of John and the book of Romans with an open heart and mind because how you choose will determine where you will spend eternity
@M424Filmcast cont. And Ephasians 2:8: For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. And the gospel, [of the bible] is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: Romans 1:16
These verses jumped out at me. I had heard them before by well-meaning Christians but this time they came alive. I had heard the gospel of Mormonism for years and I realized that the gospel of cont.
@bubingajv You have no understanding of what we really teach. You are angry about something, but it is not an issue with the doctrine. You have issues with the church. I see where you are going with this. I have dealt with your type many times before. The type that says after years of faith, after years of having a testimony, "suddenly" something happened, and "suddenly" your eyes were opened. Ummm...yeah, right.
@bubingajv That's called a red herring. You are hoping you can take me off topic. Funny, I showed you your own churches contradictory doctrines that you claimed never existed, and now you are attempting to say that we have contradictory doctrines. Simple fail. You lost, now you are angry. So now you revert to unfounded accusations. Go away troll.
@M424Filmcast of the bible and the gospel of Mormonism were very different. The gospel of Mormonism requires a lifetime of perfection that can never be attained and a life of bondage. The gospel of the bible requires only faith alone in Christ alone and sets you free. You won’t experience the “burning of the bosom”; what you will experience is “a peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7 cont.
@M424Filmcast Your error is your belief that Christianity follows everything the “church fathers” taught. The theosis that Irenaus and others wrote about and believed was error then and is error now and has never been a part of Christianity. If what they or anyone else, including Joseph Smith taught, did not agree with God’s word, it was considered false. The Bible therefore is the final authority, the plumb line that everything else is judged by. cont.
@M424Filmcast Your research has given you a distorted view of true Christianity. Being a bible reading Mormon, why do you ignore God’s own word in Isaiah 40:45, Revelations 22:13 and the many other verses in the bible that clearly say there is only ONE God and there has never been any before Him or after Him. Obviously you do not believe that the bible is God’s infallible word, which is the real issue here. Cont.
@M424Filmcast Even the Book of Mormon teaches that there is only one God. 2 Nephi 31:21 and Alma 11:28-29. I suggest you read those verses. When Joseph Smith initially wrote the Book of Mormon, he taught a one and only God, later on he contradicted himself and taught plural gods. Do you really believe you will become a god someday with many goddess wives ruling your own planet? If so what must you do to attain that godhood? Cont.
@M424Filmcast I know from being an ex-Mormon that you MUST fulfill all the temple requirements and endowments, and in order to go through the temple you MUST receive your temple recommends and in order to receive your recommends you MUST be “worthy” and to be “worthy” requires a lot of effort, time away from home, stress and anxiety. If that is not trying to reach perfection through good works I don’t know what is. Cont.
@M424Filmcast The God of the bible does not lie or deceive. And God is not inept and unable to instruct and teach humanity through the prophets of the Old Testament and through Jesus and the apostles in the New Testament. Do you really believe, as Mormonism teaches, that Jesus failed at His attempt to establish his church two thousand years ago, after he said the gates of hell would not prevail against it? If you do, you really don’t know the Jesus of the bible. cont.
@bubingajv We teach this verse. We live it. Thanks for the prayers. I will also pray that you will see through the distorted version of what you think we teach, and actually learn what our doctrine is without all the ridiculous propaganda you have spouted here.
@bubingajv (cont.) he says, 'but at first men, then at length gods.' This is not to be understood as mere rhetorical exaggeration on Irenaeus' part. He meant the statement to be taken literally.
This is just the beginning. Would you like me to continue on with more from Clement of Alexandria, Origen, Justin Martyr, Hippolytus, Anasthasius, Augustine, Jerome, Joseph Fitzmeyer, William R. Inge, and
@M424Filmcast After reading your “scriptures” on attaining godhood I want to point out that the early fathers did not agree on the definition of theosis. Irenaeus is quoted as saying “there is but ONE God, the Father of all… the Son and the Spirit.” So it appears that Irenaeus believes in only one God whereas Mormonism teaches that there are many gods and that members in good standing may become gods with plural goddesses and that that God of the bible is.... cont.
@bubingajv So you will dismiss your own christian fathers, and then try to tell me what we teach in regards to theosis? Sorry. Fallacy argument alert!
why do mormon's insist on "secrecy" as to the "goings on" inside their temples when Jesus plainly held a complete public ministry. He even said "what you hear in secret, proclaim from the mountain tops"!! why do mormons defend the fact that there are obvious Satanic symbols of their most prominent temples? is there a link between the activity inside the temple and the symbols on the outside? these are just a few of the "questions" i have with Mormonism. i do not wish to argue.
@WordMinistry You are here very specifically to argue and to make accusations. So don't give me the line about " I love you brother, I am concerned for you." You are a critic (not a very good one), and you are not here out of love, but out of a lack of knowledge and understanding. You have no intention of "saving" someone, you are here to cause strife, and to perpetuate lies and misunderstandings. I'm not new to the tactics of antimormons.
@WordMinistry You could not be more wrong on this one. “It is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given” (Matthew 13:11). Not everything was taught openly. You spend too much time reading anti-Mormon garbage than the bible. By the way, do some history on the cross (pagan) and the pentagram was a part of the early Christian orthodoxy. So misinformed you are.
@WordMinistry There is not one deceptive thing in this video. What's really funny, is you show up in the name of a ministry specifically looking for a place to trash talk someone's belief in Jesus.
Matthew 22:37Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38This is the first and great commandment. 39And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
@M424Filmcast - can you imagine the wrath and outer darkness that will be experienced by those to know the truth about (the lies and deception that IS) mormonism yet they choose (for whatever reason) to continue to deceive. God help you to "see" and understand and turn from the deception and the lie. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide you OUT of LIES and INTO TRUTH. If i didn't love you I would not tell you. If I hated you I would rejoice at your deception.
@WordMinistry Funny you mention this, for it is exactly what I did when I left the multitude of confusion and disagreement known as the "mainstream", and entered into the fold of the Lamb known as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Holy Spirit is exactly what guided me in. Thanks.
@M424Filmcast - i have no doubt of your sincerity or the fact that you have faith. Unfortnately you have chosen to put your faith into a false man made religion. you'd be better off focusing your faith on JESUS rather than a "church". I promote Jesus and i oppose counterfiet religions that attempt to "replace" the genuine article. and You're very welcome for the "Christian Love"...
@WordMinistry And I have no doubt that you also are sincere about your beliefs and faith. Unfortunately, you have chosen to put your faith into a number of false, man-made creeds which decided religious matters by vote, rather than listen to the voice of a prophet (Amos 3:7). You are assuming that I put faith in a church rather than the Lord Jesus Christ. One word: Ridiculous. So, yeah, thanks for the sarcasm. I'm sure it serves you well.
@M424Filmcast - If your leaders are correct about the complete falling away of the true church on earth, was Jesus in error when he said that the gates of hell would not prevail against it (Matthew 16:18)?
@WordMinistry No, Jesus was not wrong. That is why the gates of hell will not prevail against His church that He Himself restored.
Would you say Paul was wrong when he said that the true church would have a UNITY of faith? One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism, One God and Father of all? That we be be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive?
@WordMinistry (cont.) Perhaps you can explain the divisions, envyings and strifes that call themselves the church of Christ? I guess you will answer like all others: At least we agree on the biggest things, even though we don't agree on everything.
Yeah, I'm sure that's what Jesus intended...20,000+ versions of the gospel.
It is the same thing that Joseph Smith did, except he did it at the behest of James 1:5 where the Holy Bible reads "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God..." Do we not today believe in the same God? We may each have a slightly different take. I took a flying leap and started believing in One God, One Earth, One set of resources, shared equally by all. War only to protect one another from marauders. Silly me.
The verse in the Book of Mormon that the Latter Day Saints use, Moroni 10:4, instructs the student question "if these things are not true", the very next verse states that by the same feeling (ie Holy Ghost) you "may know the truth of all things". That is what I have done, and as a former member just now reentering The Church.
It's sad how that is the gospel in it's entirety, and it is called Mormons Exposed! As in. Yes... We believe in the Gospel of Christ. But... We hide it. Galatians 1:6-9 is all I have to say. After Christ, there is no need for another "Prophet". For the law had been fulfilled. Any other Gospel is a LIE! and the man who wrote that gospel is cursed.
I hate to say this. as good as the intentions of this video seem to be. It is awfully bias since It's not mentioning the more specific beliefs that would make normal people raise an eyebrow. I'm not saying they're not Christian. Any religion that technically stress' on Jesus being a divinity technically does count a christian. But it's the self contradictions of their other doctrines is what I'm stressing on what should be mentioned.
@Jcdoyel Well, you can't put everything you believe into a 2 minute vid. I used to be what you would call "mainstream" christian. I will tell you now that there are no contradictions. Onto another matter, and putting all other differences aside, we are all about to lose our YouTube channels and creativity. Please see the videos on my channel about this. Thank you.

@M424Filmcast Regardless if I believe there are contradictions in all scriptures, I agree with you about this tyrannical censorship over the internet 100%. @M424Filmcast How did early Mormon leaders get to that doctrine? If anything about the Mormon doctrine is true about the beginning of the world, why didn't any Israelite prophet/leader talk or write about it? It would make sense that they make this widely known to their fellow Israelites. I don't get why God chose Israel but didn't reveal this to them? Please explain.
The question is, which Jesus Christ do the Mormons believe in? The thousands of denominations, sects, and cults alleging to be Christian all say they believe in Jesus Christ, but they all preach a different gospel and a different Jesus. Paul warned about this nearly 2,000 years ago.

@M424Filmcast the questions i will ask, as you could assume, will be based from propaganda. I'm not intending to start a fire or stir the pot. Earlier, Young preached at GC in 1861:
"Some years ago, I advanced a doctrine with regard to Adam being our father and God, that will be a curse to many of the Elders of Israel because of their folly. With regard to it they yet grovel in darkness and will. It is one of the most glorious revealments of the economy of heaven, yet the world hold derision....."
Jack44M 6 days ago
@Jack44M And you continue to ignore the fact that this is not, was not, and will not ever be doctrine. If it is not in our scriptures, it is not official teaching. Therefore, it is not accepted as true.

In 1980 Ezra Taft Benson insisted that the “living prophet is more vital to us than the standard works.” Joseph Smith and Brigham Young said the same thing.....were they lying?
Jack44M 6 days ago

@Jack44M I already told you. Regardless of any discourses, this is not, was not, and never will be official doctrine.

M424Filmcast 6 days ago
You cannot prove Mormonism because there is no basis for it's so called facts. There is no metallurgic proof, no geographic proof, archaeologic proof and most important is that there was never recognized by any serious scholar in linguistics ancient reformed egyptian. Kinderhook plates anyone?? What about the Pearl of great Price? Smith claims he translated it from Egyptian papayri. What he actually had was a burial ritual of an Egyptian God. How much more need be said? Jesus is the way.PERIOD!

M424Filmcast 6 days ago
He said in his own words that he did better than Jesus because Jesus' people ran from him but the mormons never ran away from him. Many rituals and symbology found in Mormonism is from the Masonic rites, sun and moon with faces, square and compass, secret handshakes, temple endowments, etc. Smith himself was a 33rd degree Mason. Some believe he was killed by Masons because he made their sacred rituals public knowledge. The BOM has vast amounts of plagiarism cited, straight from the Bible.

RazrsEdge427 6 days ago

M424Filmcast 6 days ago
@RazrsEdge427
Jack44M 6 days ago
@Jack44M You need to understand what the Inspired Versions purpose was. If you are insinuating that no one can find problems with the current Bible, and the translations that have been made, you are deluded.

(cont.)
M424Filmcast 2 weeks ago

M424Filmcast 2 weeks ago
@bubingajv (cont.) We were not made gods at our beginning, but first we were made men, then, in the end, gods.
Also:
How then will any be a god, if he has not first been made a man? How can any be perfect when he has only lately been made man? How immortal, if he has not in his mortal nature obeyed his maker? For one's duty is first to observe the discipline of man and thereafter to share in the glory of God.

@bubingajv (cont.) And:
(cont.)
M424Filmcast 2 weeks ago
@bubingajv (cont.) And, Irenaeus considers the doctrine clearly Biblical, just as the LDS do:
For he who holds, without pride and boasting, the true glory (opinion) regarding created things and the Creator, who is the Almighty God of all, and who has granted existence to all; [such an one, ] continuing in His love and subjection, and giving of thanks, shall also receive from Him the greater glory of promotion, looking forward to the time when he shall become like

@bubingajv (cont.) @bubingajv (cont.) [being] the Word of God who dwelt in man, and became the Son of man, that He might accustom man to receive God, and God to dwell in man, according to the good pleasure of the Father. Said one Protestant theologian of Irenaeus:
Participation in God was carried so far by Irenaeus as to amount to deification. 'We were not made gods in the beginning,'

You err by relying so heavily on the early church fathers for your support of human godhood. Many of them believed in and debated unscriptural doctrines. For example, Irenaeus believed in the false doctrine of Mariology which is the belief in Mary as co-redeemer and co-mediator.
The fact that many early Christians believed in theosis does not validate it, cont,
bubingajv 2 weeks ago
@M424Filmcast there were many false beliefs then as there are now among Christians. The early Christians did not have the New Testament as we know it today until almost 400 AD. Today we can easily search and cross reference a topic or doctrine to see if it consistent. That is why God’s word, bible is so important, it is our absolute authority. The trademark of all cults is to discredit and negate God’s infallible word and replace it with “new revelations.” cont.
bubingajv 2 weeks ago
@bubingajv The Bible makes no claim that it is the only and absolute authority. There is nothing in it that says that it is infallible. I proved you wrong about your churches previous teachings, so you call them false. Yet, you will follow the rest of their teachings. Then you switch subjects. That is called a red herring. Rather than argue the point, I will make another offer. Would you like to hear what your own people say and have said about this new subject? (cont.)
M424Filmcast 2 weeks ago
@bubingajv (cont.) My feeling is that I will show you what your own teachers, and christian fathers said on this subject, and you will again dismiss it, and throw out another red herring. Perhaps, you should do the research before making any further statements.

@M424Filmcast The “scriptures” you posted are not scripture at all, but quotations of false beliefs by mere men, no matter how noble and dedicated they were.
The scriptures often used to support the false doctrine of exaltation are:
I said, “You are gods, sons of the Most High… Psalm 82:5-7

M424Filmcast 2 weeks ago
@M424Filmcast Every mention of “gods” in the bible is referring to them either, in a negative light, as false gods, or kings and leaders as gods.
Read these two verses IN CONTEXT, read it as you would read a letter from your wife or a friend. You will see that the bible is not referring to these “gods” as any cont. type of deity but rather as kings and leaders of the people and are being reprimanded for their unjust concern and care for the people.

bubingajv 2 weeks ago
@bubingajv There is more to those verses than you are willing to admit. First answer my previous reply in regards to your claims of Biblical infallibility and final authority. I will not address multiple issues at one time.
M424Filmcast 2 weeks ago
@M424Filmcast Here is proof of the infallibility of God's word:
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away” Matthew 24:3
“Every word of God is flawless Proverbs 30:5 “Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.” John 17:17
“For no word from God will ever fail.” Luke 1:37
For the word of God is alive and active.” Hebrews 4:12
bubingajv 2 weeks ago

Romans 10: 9,10 says If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved cont.
bubingajv 2 weeks ago
@bubingajv This statement is ridiculous. No Mormon attempts, nor teaches anyone to attempt to pay the debt that Jesus paid. Nor do we earn anything by good works. Sounds to me like you were either not well studied, or you have spent too much time reading antimormon material rather than actually studying what we really teach.
M424Filmcast 2 weeks ago
697) cont.
bubingajv 2 weeks ago
