Quantum of Solace definitely had its problems, but I thought that the ending made up for a lot of it. Love the last shot of the necklace as the theme builds up, and I honestly love the gunbarrel/main theme kicking off the credits (imo it's a very dramatic way to start them). To be honest, if Skyfall is great (and I hope it is), I feel like people will look at Quantum as being more of a "bridge" film and maybe like it a little more.
@SIngli6 because it shows that Bond has matured, and he is now the cold-hearted killer-playboy everyone remembers him as. We as an audience have finally made it out of prequel-stage and back to the real and fun bond movies. :D
@SIngli6 Well Hopefully Skyfall the next Bond film will be more like the older Bonds with the gunburrel at the start of the film and the pre title sequence and i agree with other peoples comment why did they have to rush this gunbarrel it could have been a lot better hope they fired the editor of this movie too.
M is like his fucking mother 'i need you back son - dont go misbehaving' god I wonder if M will ever be a man again? Like Bernard Lee from Dr No to Moonraker.
This movie is confusing on so many levels, especially with the gun barrel sequence and title at the end. What does that mean? Is he NOW James Bond more so than in the end of Casino Royale? Why not just wait to play it at the beginning of Bond 23/Skyfall?
Because he wasn't the "fully formed" Bond yet. He caught Vesper's boyfriend (who sold her out) - she was the one who taught him to be the sophisticated and cool spy he's known for. The gunbarrel (in spite of how much I personally don't like it - way too rushed) indicates that he has grown into a new persona.
@BowTiesRCool The film is about Bond becoming the man we know him as and the man he needs to be. The gunbarrel sequence is the culmination of that. It's the same way they only put the theme music and "Bond James Bond" at the very end of Casino Royale.
@iknownothing34 It shouldn't be too sad. After all, it symbolizes that Bond has finally found the peace that he has desperately needed this whole time. He has settled matters the right way with Vesper's boyfriend, rather than just dealing out vengeance like he has with all his other enemies. And now he is finally letting go of the past and of Vesper's memory by throwing away her necklace, and becoming the James Bond that we all know and love.
And the gunbarrel sequence at the end confirms it.
@joshguy64 Thank you . I think your the first one that i have come across that understands what this version of james bond is . ppl keep saying hes just a ruthless killer on this movie but they keep forgetting the reason hes doing all this killing
@joshguy64 It's a rare occasion when I see a well thought-out comment that actually has thumbs up on Youtube. I think there is still hope for mankind. :D
Daniel craig is a good biond. However i feel that george lazenby deserves a place somewhere in the series.

Good. Don't get me wrong, I liked the change of pace that 'Casino Royale (2006)' and 'Quantum of Solace' gave us, but I want bloody Bond back!

I like the part at 9:00 where he walks off into the shadows. Like a good spy should.
