They tell me it is due to the entertainment they get and that it in turn gives them happiness. What they do not seem to realize is that it gives them a hell of a lot more than happiness. And that more that it gives is profound and generally unrecognized. That more is preventing them from the kind of happiness it appears you know. R.I.P Mr Scott-Heron. It's true, this music belongs to a golden era..an era when imagination ruled in the hearts of Gil, Donny Hathaway and so many songwriters. This type of era can never be repeated and when the performer dies he takes part of it with him/her.

Why Gil was an inspiration for me is because he can make you cry, he can make you smile, he can make you laugh, and he can you feel so good and comfortable no matter what you're going thru, in the most poetic and soulful (and one of the best musical) ways possible. My brother RIP!

Gil Scott-Heron is really an underrated treasure in the realm of musicianship. I mean he's just as profound as that of a Sam Cooke or Marvin Gaye mixed with that Otis Redding passion and Stevie Wonder spirit... this reminds me much of Stevie's "A Place In The Sun". Gil Scott-Heron stated, "The revolution will not be televised", all revolutionaries appreciate his art for the soul.
