I'm I the only one who noticed that if you play Grenade Man's stage in Mega Man 8, with the disc playing on the Nintendo Wii, the stage theme plays differently.

pfft it would be better if it had megaman x 1,2,3,4 now that would be a freken awesome gamecube game this is good 2 but it would be alot better if it had megaman x series. what do u guys think?

I liked Megaman 5. It had a good story line (ProtoMan... villian?), the Robot Masters are MUCH better then the previous game, and there's some cool new effects added, like GravityMan's stage messes with gravity. It was a good game.

i got the xbox version and it has customizable controls so i would reccomend that version

Whoever didn't know yet, the two secret games to unlock were Megaman: The Power Battle & Megaman 2: The Power Fighters. Beat Megaman 3 for Power Battle & Megaman 7 for Power Fighters. These games and "SECRETS" aren't effected if game settings are changed (Beat Megaman 1-8 for everything.) This goes for both the GC & PS2 versions. The Power Battle & The Power Fighters were released in the Japanese arcade cabinets. Battle & Fighters are 2-Player co-op games with 3 playable characters (4 in PF).

It is a terrific compilation and almost every game is great, because the Megaman games all kept pretty high standards of quality.

I own all three versions and really have to say the Gamecube version is the worst of the bunch. Atomic Planet reversed the controls and the Rockman Complete Works arrangements for 4-6 are completely absent from the GC version, leaving only the original 2A03 chiptunes. The PS2 version has longer load times but does have both the remixes and correct controls. The Xbox version has quicker load times than PS2, the remixes and the correct controls. Too bad very minor graphical issues plauge text.

Great collection-and certainly a lot cheaper then buying Mega Man 1-8 individually.

Absolutely. I highly recommend this for the casual gamer who wants to play the Mega Man series but isn't quite up to being a video game collector yet.

@dommiesan What's nice about the Gamecube version is RetroUSB (aka Retrozone) has made a SNES Retroport controller adapter that plugs into the Gamecube controller port allowing any SNES controller to be used as a GC Pad Mega Man NES games and Mega Man 8 Y can be used for fire and B to Jump (since the idiots swapped A and B around and you can't config the controls at all) however Mega Man X Collection does allow control config and games can be mapped to the SNES pad like the MMX SNES games

The Xbox version is also viable with intact controls, and it also contains both the Inafune interview and a cartoon. It was released later, so it's often the overlooked version.

Yes, I believe all versions of this game were North American exclusives.

There are other options for you... you could import the game and a Gamecube. Gamecubes are pretty cheap in the US at the moment, as Gamestop is phasing them out. You can get both for somewhere around $50 + shipping.

What country are you in? Did I mention the Classic Games Revisited store ships globally? :)

I don't ebay anymore (too many hassles and fees). I sell strictly on my store website. The store website won't be live until around the end of the month, so I don't want to give out the address yet but don't worry, I'll keep everybody posted.

It sounds like a lot to import a whole system for 1 game, but when you consider that both the system and game sell for about $10 less than the average new PS3 game it's not that bad. Plus you'd have the system for other games in the future.

Well yeah, but considering that im a 99% retro collector AND that the gamecube is my least favourite "good" console. And the fact that I have absolutelly no room. My C64 and AtariXE computers are placed horribly and I have a huge problem where I put my C64 games. I have NO IDEA where to put my upcoming TG16, so another gamecube? That Would be just an additional headache. lol

I bought this the week it came out (for the gamecube). I was majorly disappointed with the switched buttons.

The PS2 version doesn't have the buttons switched. X is jump and square is shoot.

It's a nice collection, but doesn't really offer much after the 10 games. The complete works released only in Japan has more to offer IMO, like time attack and a couple have a boss rush mode.

When I mix formats between 4:3 and widescreen in 1 video, my editing program adds letterboxing to keep everything in some sort of proportion.
