I'm not enjoying my Linux experience :c I think I need a friend that uses linux to help me out and go on this journey with me. Anybody here? :c I'm sing Backtrack 5
@hephzibam maybe my tar.gz file is the prob........ i'm trying to download floola or yamipod.......... they won't work. even after i did this. someone pls direct me to video that shows how to do this same thing but for newer versions of linux like 10.10 PLS!!!! thank you! :D
yu@tubepoop: Download and click install= done, then need to pay because was a trial, then a virus gets into the pc, then screws up the HD, then needs a new HD, then with the new HDD you need a new windows, Then need to install everything again, then you are going to download the file again and GUESS what, you go back to the beginning of this post, I'm also a windows user but benefis from linux are the bomb, nothing compared with the "pay for everyting" trash on windows xD
@blodyfist Thats why you need to actually need to be careful about downloading and installing everything you see on the internet and actually use a anti-virus other than windows defender and norton.....
Impossible to understand anything. More time is dedicated to googling downloading the file and exactly process of exactly installation showed quickly.
Now my process of saying goodbye to Windows is one step further to complete...
I'm sending this to anyone I know who might be wondering about the same process. This video almost single-handedly makes the switch from Windows to Ubuntu flawless!
I'm using Mint, but I thought this might work because it's also derived from Debian. And I was fine for a while - even found the "Edit Menu" option. But then I got to the "browse" part and didn't know what to select; there's no file with the same name as the application in that folder. Oh well...
It doesn't work for me :\ When I try to open the file when adding it to the menu, it just opens whats inside the songbird file, instead of just using the sonbird file
When you browse for the command at 1:50 you click on songbird and "songbird again". But often tar.gz files do not contain a file with he same name as the folder... in that case what one do you click?
@ajboomboom5 Right click the panel. Then click Properties. Then Click on Background. Then you will see it says None and Solid Color. Click on Solid color and slide the bar to the Left.
any ideas on installing wine 1.4-rc5 ? i found it only ad tar.bz2 can anyone help? plz reply!!!
