I have a question. These are no doubt the most B-E-A-utiful dogs I've ever seen. But, what is their temperament like? Are they good around babies? Even alone? Are they fun to play with? Because me and my girlfriend have been looking at getting one and there just seems to be no expert information from an actual owner of one. Plus this would be our first dog. Are they any good for a first timer? Xx any help would be heavily appreciated :-) x
They really love snow and cold weather ... but I think that if they have a good leader who loves and takes care of them, they could live anywhere ... ;)
@Humberto4790 ... I don't have any kids, but if you work on their behavior and put each other in the right relationship I think they could get on well. But always pay attention!!
@INDIANA983 Do you think is safe to take him out in the cold during winter 2-3-4 months puppies, or you think is wiser to wait till the next year(I will get a male puppy in late november.He will be 7-8 weeks then).
@dncviorel ... they are strong dog but I think they really need to stay with the pack!! Don't leave him out alone for long .. he will suffer! I have 3 ChWD .. and they live WITH ME.. they don't like to stay alone...
@INDIANA983 For the beginning I will be his "pack".I will take care of him as best I can, he won't be alone for too long.I understand that I'm not buying a toy, but a dog that needs constant attention.I will do my best to have him as happy as a czech wolf can be.Thanks for the advice, I kindly appreciate.
Hi!!! I didn't known that CWD was illegal in Norway...anyway I can tell you that this breed is not for all...but only for addicted!! He's a wonderful dog, but he is also a wolf ;)
@INDIANA983 I don't understand the politicians over here. This breed is illegal but Sarloos wolfdog is legal. I love German sheperds and wolfs! So i want this wolfdog! Btw, i think Norway is the only country that has banned this breed
@INDIANA983 they say if the wolfmixing goes out of hand we'll have a problem. that in the 70's we had problems with wild wolfhybrids.. they were both wild and tame, so no wolfhybrids are legal. But Sarloos is legal because it's so old
@INDIANA983 maybe it's the same situation as was in uk, where they had a statute prohibiting keeping wild animals, and hybrids too, it was just some kind of misunderstanding the law but in consequence csv were forbidden (now it have changed and people can breed them in uk)
He is beautiful! I love this kind of dogs: they look wild, like they are suppost to be, but they seem to be very kind.
It's fun watching him getting older at every picture in the beginning. He did quite change his colour, though. I wish to have a dog like this when I'm older.
