  • Is that real tatami????? I heard is too difficult to cut tatami.... Isnt that junko?

  • @OOFUJISAN its hard to cut if its not hold in place. they are just hacking it coz its stuck to the stand

  • @shadowremorse sure thing that... but even using a makiwara it is hard... it must be really sharp.

  • chop chop chop .... chop

  • Terrible nukitsuke

  • How much did those katanas cost? (I've been doing martial arts for 2 years. and i'm just curious)

  • My school would hate me if I lifted my leg off the ground. I would be doing cuts till my arsm really did fall off.

  • Cosplay !! He has no stance or technique ... sorry !Gaijin !!

  • @leandrocuriel true

  • I love the Americanized Japanese accents, funny! ^_^

  • I love that chiburi the long hair fellow does, is it a traditional one or is it his own design?

  • The chiburi is traditional! We don´t invent things on our own. :-)

  • Very nice! Was that stand from Vass & Slipad in Sweden? Thought I recognised the logo. :)

  • Thank you!

I am a friend of Emil and I also recognized your hispeedcamera video! He is a very nice guy! :-)

  • That he is! I know him as well. I and some of my students are participating in one of his tameshigiri seminars on the 9th of May. Then I will get my shinken back as well - Emil has been repairing it for me. Have a nice weekend!

  • I am in Sweden next weekend and will meet him ;-) Looking forward to that! Have a nice weekend too!

  • Thanks for the tip!

    Tack för tipset! :)

  • This is the best!

  • Keep an eye on the foot work of the long-haired one

  • How many of those rolled tatami do you have? Theres a huge pile in there, haha. I was wondering how much each of those costed.

  • Tatami are usually only purchased in 50 or more quantity. I wouldn't be surprised if they had cut 50 that day. I have seen it done, especially with more than one person.

  • Get it right: FEE, FI, FO, FUM! lol

    Not bad guys

  • Thx! Will see what I can do! May take a while!

  • Very nice...domo arigato for tha add...i love ko-ryu..keep up your great work...takeda-ryu has a long tradition

    Gasho :)

  • a good martial artist dont make shows cutting or breaking things, he/she just be

  • This is not a show, this is training.

  • If no one ever saw the beauty and skill of the martial arts it would die. Inspiration comes in many shapes and forms.

  • not bad at all how many mats u cutting 2 or 1?

  • These are no beach mats, these are tatami omote. An "Ippon maki" is normally made by one tatami.

  • ohh the real deal you are using i c ;P

  • Great video, great martial art!

  • Why don't these guys cut while drawing? Not really much iaido if you draw, then cock the sword, then cut. Iaido should be draw and cut at the same time if I'm not mistaken.

    But nice cuts.

  • We do also cut directly from the draw but it is not part of our basic program. The purpose of these kind of one handed cuts from the draw was not really to cut through something but to hurt or to occupy the oponent to be safe while drawing. Mostly these cuts did only scratch or cause a reaction and the following cuts did the job. To cut one handed from the draw we practice to improve our skills but we understand that it is a little bit away from what it originally meant.

  • yeah your right, these aren't good iai's they make, they do it slow and what they do is only kiritsuke's. but a iai needs a nukitsuke, kiritsuke, chiburi and a noto, but they only do 25% of what should happen with a iaido iai

  • Very smooth

  • Excellent video

  • cool ! good work ..
