I think this song is great. I was in an abusive relationship with an ex. He thought he had everyone fooled that he was a great guy and could get away with murder and treated me like it. Altho he did have one person, his sister in law who was not fooled and warned me of his lies. This song helped me move on.

The song was written about a girl that singer Dexter Holland knew as a kid. She was sexually abused, and everybody in the neighborhood (including Dexter) knew about it, but nobody did anything about it.Dexter Holland wrote the song as an apology to the girl.
