Kurt, if your sword has like only 10 uses left and you're afraid to use it, just put it along with another sword (of the same material) in the crafting grid and then you have 1 sword back (and if the other sword was damaged, it would get the leftover uses of the other sword)

Lag Spikes: ctrl panel>java (or *:\*\Java\jre6\bin\javacpl.exe­). then java tab>view... button. left click the runtime parameters field for the latest version of java (in my case it is 1.6.0_30) and the field will not put a cursor up so just start typing "-Xmx800m". then click ok, ok, and play.

if you like you can adjust the memory usage by changing the numerical in mB.

from what i have googled several others claim by this and it seems to fix the putter performance of my girl's computer.

Just a quick pointer Kurt, you don't have to throw away damaged items, remeber Minecraft has arepair system now. Just Place two damaged items in the crafting square and it combines their remaining durability. Just a heads up ^_^

Then the Skeleton general will send an attack unit with another wave from the Zombie general. We've also arranged for a Spider Jocky to be in the area. Sadly, the Enderman General refused to participate saying that there was too much water in the cave. Nuts to him I say! This plan will work!

Kurt, you shouldn't throw away your swords when they're almost destroyed, in 1.0.0 you can repair them, so just damage the new sword a couple of times then put them both in the crafting grid.
