after that album and fools gold I was totally expecting the roses to release the best album ever made. The dopamine from the expectation and excitement made life ace.
Totally agree with Mozzer232 The Stone Roses LP is absolutely stunning!! They could have been bigger than the beatles ( i think)!!! John Squire---guitar wizard Ian Brown---poet for the people.......in my eyes!!!
I'm in my 30s and I got well excited when I saw this in between some show or other on ITV. It felt such a rush to see the greatest album of all time on an advert with those stunning, almost apochryphal original reviews attached. and the sound booming out of the TV and the snippets of tracks. IT FELT IMPORTANT AND VITAL AGAIN. There never was an ad for the LP back in that summer of '89 when I first laid my hands on that precious vinyl.
@Mozzer232 i think your comment was a reply to mine there.. stumbled across this video and saw my comment, after i wrote that comment a few years ago i went and bought the stone roses, and jesus i take my comment back.
It all comes down to matter of taste. I love Definitely Maybe. That being said, the Stone Roses is my favorite album of alltime. Not just debut. My 2nd favorite debut record would probably be My Aim is True than a tossup between Definitely Maybe and Appetite for Destruction...
you are right i didnt notice that,,if ian noticed that i dont think he would have put that there,,ian was against the british occupation of ireland,,and despises the monarchy,,hence elizabeth my dear,,his first song when he played in derry,,that tells me were his loyaltys lie.

I'm buyin' the collectors edition here in the states, gonna pass it on when I have children. Seems well worth the price with discs, vinyls, etc. That, and maybe Reni and the rest will make something from the first record for a change. peace.
the original was too high in the mix cos they sounded well loud and heavey when they made the album, brownie always wanted it recorded again cos he said is was to"monochrome" he thorght it sounded too light on its feet,i still fkn love it though....!!!
