Yes, they have added quite a bit of new members since their album 'Angel Voices' came out in 2006.

Yes in fact about 7 have been added since 'New Dawn' was released earlier this year. Only 3 of the new members from when 'New Dawn' was released are present on this video.

kelly; The incredible sounds of Libera could never be achieved if all the boys sang at the same time-that's for choirs.You wouldn't press all the keys of a piano at the same time, or a trumpet or saxophone. Libera is about the blending of specific voices for specific sounds. In concert some boys leave the stage. Mr.Prizeman composes the music with each boys voice in mind. At times, solos are sung by 3 and not just one to achieve the sound he wants. Bill

Hello.....these kids are all Anglican (Church of England). Surprising, since the Pope does not recognize them as even being Christians. Frankly, probably one of the best boy choirs these days.

Camera work was shoddy. If the cameraman had stuck with Tom at 0:35 and continued zooming out, Josh would have come into the picture beside him. Instead we get useless shots of backstage activity and flowers. Anyway the boys themselves, were truly awesome yet again.

I agree.And there was only one camera feeding all the networks worldwide.Probably a sports rather than events cameraman. The headsets on both Tom&Josh should have told him to move the camera right on Josh rather than Callums robe on the left.He did get some good shots of mini-Ben and the two 9 year olds traveling for the first time. Their parents must have been extremely proud waching them live back in London. Bill

I was actually there at the stadium. They sound GREAT here but it is nothing compared to seeing them in person. The emotion just starts to build up in you and it just makes you want to cry. I didnt even know about them until yesterday. I am a new Libera fan.

I had no idea they were going to perform during the Pre-Mass Concert. So I was pleasantly surprised when they appeared on my screen. I wasn't able to go to their NYC Riverside Church concert. Did anyone viewing this ... see them last Thursday, 4/17/08?

I did indeed see them at Riverside! Second row aisle. More beautiful than I could have ever possibly imagined. Flew up from New Orleans for that one purpose. Was able to talk with each at the autograph signing. Tom & Ben were at the head of the table. Suggested to Ben he tell the pope his name was also Benedict. Alex was 11 and wasn't sure how old Sam is! He thinks 13!(g)Wouldn't have missed it for the world! Bill

Despite of the winds blowing they still gave all their ability, professionalism & talents to the people & for the POPE, Imagine this back in London as their parents are watching them proudly standing saying "that's my son" "that's my son singing there". It's totally awesome & Proud to be a Libera fan & I will carry this now for ages. Libera is uplifting.

Thanks for this prompt post. I couldn't help but feel bursting with pride and admiration for the boys giving such a good performance. If you put the technical sound pickup out of your mind and just listen to the harmony, tonality and timing (realise half of them had their eyes closed due to the sun and wind) they were just only perfect.

The applause was genuine and well earned.

I thought they did an amazing performance. They had to battle with the wind, it was obviously blowing into their faces, and that affected the microphones setup throughout the whole pre-mass concert. I thought despite the elements, they were brilliant. Tom is just a vocal magician. He was amazing at the end. Thanks for sharing and uploading so quickly.

I agree that they did a great job under tough conditions. I think however that the appaling sound mix is inexcuseable. They sounded like they were singing from the end of a tunnel.

For any regular Yankees game in the same stadium you get 1080i HD with 5.1 Dolby Digital surround, but when someone as important as the Pope comes you get an SD pool feed with a monaural sound mix, go figure!

I'm not sure what you're referring to, but with regard to the sound, most of the other performers used close miking, whereas for the boys it looked like there were six microphones a few feet back trying to capture the whole group. The boys at the ends of the semicircle were a good seven feet from the nearest mic. Tom, Josh and Ed were wearing also headset mics.

Listening back to it, it actually doesn't sound quite as bad as it did at first to me, and the harmonies really came over well.

Here in NYC on channel 5, the idiot announcers labeled them as the Libera Childrens Choir, talked over the start, and then said the group included both boys and girls.

The local all news channel NY1 did a much better job.

Great performance by Libera! Glad to see them performing in front of possibly thousands of people. Really awesome!

The sound quality isn't as good (cuz of the setting i believe) and the boys seemed kind of nervous (or maybe because it's the camera moving so quickly from time to time).

Great solo from Tom again at the end of the piece. Amazing!
