..."I, John Brown, am now quite certain that the sins of this country can only be purged away but with blood!....Whether you admire or revile him, you gotta admit those are truly prophectic words!
to ignorance , cowardice , greed, lovelessness and zionist control . There's righteousness in all men and women , if only they had the courage to use it..........
Brown's ideals were just, but he would have better contributed to the abolishment of slavery if he hadn't become a murderer for it. In my opinion, he went too far with it. The first person killed was a free black man, he wasted his life doing a pointless act of violence when he could have done so much more for the anti-slavery cause.
Notice at 3:20 a man asked the question " when is it right to used violence. " That's because the violence was in the name of liberation for black slaves, but they didn't mind using violence to bring those slaves to this country in the FIRST place. They didn't mind using violence to uphold Segregation, or to kill millions of Indians, which makes those white people immigrants. They didn't mind using violence anytime it was in their own hyporictical interests to this very day.
@truthhitmanisback First off, It's Native American. 2nd using violence anytime it's in someone's own hypocritical interest is something that could and has been in seen in people today and in the past; regardless of race, gender, and sexual orientation.I'm not going to tell you how African slavery began for I know very little about it except for the fact it was under the Dutch and the ships were manned by despicable characters who only cared about money.
@EastAustraliaCurrent I do know that the use of African's as slaves was allowed to continue due to the larger, probably coastal, groups of Africans that would catch and help catch other Africans from smaller and rival groups in exchange for rum, supplies, and fire arms.
John Brown is not only one of the greatest men in the history of this nation, but in all the history of all of humanity. His spirit will live as long as people who are truly committed to opposing oppression walk this earth. RIP.
That would be like condoning guys like Eric Rudolph & Scott Roeder, that kill gays, or doctors that provide abortions if you are a right-to-life proponent. You could make a similar argument for guys like Bloody Bill Anderson, who believed strongly against the Union after the unnecessary deaths of his sisters. Was his killings just as justified? I think not. Glorifying a cold-blooded murderer in the name of a political cause is dangerous, regardless of how you actually feel.
@timmarshall63 "Whenever the legislators endeavor to take away and destroy the property of the people, or to reduce them to slavery under arbitrary power, they put themselves into a state of war with the people, who are thereupon absolved from any farther obedience, and are left to the common refuge which God hath provided for all men against force and violence."- John Locke....
@Eunuchification Locke's natural law concerning self defense. This doesn't relate to people like John Brown that use his belief system for simply murder innocent people. Had this been an insurrection led by slaves, then this natural law would apply. "Each person owns his or her own life and no other person has a right to take that life." - Locke in the same law. Attacking the govt is not the same as dragging people out of their homes and hacking them to death.
@timmarshall63 Taking this into account, it is clear that John Brown was merely attempting to finish the war which the Southern colonies had begun the moment they introduced slavery to North America in 1619. In order to accuse John Brown of being a cold-blooded murderer, you must also accuse every human being who was ever willing to fight and die for human liberty as well.
@Eunuchification I am not going to get into a continued debate on this, because I am sure you want the last word which you can have. As I stated earlier it is no different than supporting guys like Roeder because you believe strongly in Right to Life. JB killed innocent people for his cause. No different than suicide bombers killing using religious reasoning. The brutality of Pottawatomie is unjustifiable, I don't care how noble the cause. Not the same as your last snetence.

The great american author Herman Melville called John Brown, "The Meteor that ignited The Civil War..." and I suppose that millions of americans who live in "the north" still picture him this way. A person can become fascinated by someone like John Brown whose ferociously violent life blazed across our history and inspired americans to take up arms, and murder each other by the millions. America was, and continues to be, a horribly violent country...
@FrizBNinja1 i know Kansas i come from there, so i know first hand there isn't anything great about it. plus its not greatness if your team chokes practically every year.
A blood thirty murderer. It was because of men like Brown (who actually represented a small minority of abolitionists of the day) the South lost faith in the Union. I'm against abortion, but I denounce men like Eric Rudolph. Thus I denounce Brown. He openly advocated the overthrow of the U.S. government, the CSA did not.
@eflint1 your analogy = epic fail. "pro-choice" people do not go killing "pro-life" people, if they did it would possibly rationalize Rudolph's actions. Can you imagine a pro-life church moving to a predominately pro-choice city, and then burnt down? Exactly... Slave owners enslaved/killed/raped blacks but also harassed and killed white abolitionist. Example=Lawrence, Kansas 1856. John Brown was not only fighting for the freedom of blacks but reacting to the blood thirsty murdering slave owners
@Naujeco Brown wanted to over throw the U.S. government. Spin it any way you like. The South wanted to be left alone. Slavery would have not lasted long in a victorious CSA for many reasons. Brown deprived people of due process of law. Not all slave owners were as you described, and EVERYONE of those slave owners had rights, which Brown violated.
@eflint1 The South lost faith in the Union because they could no longer manipulate the Union to get what they wanted-which was to keep 4 million people as property and steal their labor. John Brown killed pro-slavery terrorists, and it was the southerners who were the murderers and maniacs in Kansas; Brown's followers are many and growing, and we renounce the wicked CSA and its offspring
@Louis2decaro Stop drinking the Kool aid and start thinking for yourself, you brainwashed ,left wing, bed wetting ,booger eating leftist!! All you've done is spout the John Brown fan club talking points, but that's about it.
@eflint1 I'm not trading insults. Address the facts. What "faith" did the South have in the Union? The South was threatening secession for years, even planning it. The South had virtual run of the country with the Fugitive Slave Law and still that wasn't enough. Like I said, Brown's followers and admirers are growing and you're on the wrong side of history. All I do is think for myself--after I study for myself. Say whatever you want, I'm not wasting my time with another round.
@Louis2decaro The North threatened secession for years just as much as the South did. The Yanks were not about to give up that 75% of the tax revenues that they gobbled up at the expense of the South. That was the whole reason for the war. Am I really on the "wrong side of history"? With 28 States and counting issuing "sovereignty declarations" , I think I'm about to be on the right side of history.
In the Loving memory of JOhn Brown, He's truly an UNSUNG HERO. He fought for what was right and his 5 Glorious sons followed his example. He was a true Rightous man, and his Memory will NEVER BE forgotten. He was a TRUE AMERICAN HERO, like Harriet Tubman. I will add this along with my video's on my favorites. IN LOVING MEMORY OF JOHN BROWN.
Gee no one is saying that he order men to be killed with out a Court or justice Yes He did have good ideas but he was to will to go to killing of others to get his idea Realized

Why hasn't there ever been made a good movie about the story of John Brown? This is a story just waiting to be told in a major release motion picture.
I've heard that there is opposition, that some people think it would encourage more Timothy McVeigh's.
