Personally I wish the Nation of Israel was never created. The problem is that is was, and now it is home to millions of people that had nothing to with its creation and yet now call it home. These millions of people are faced with real danger. As a fellow democracy, should not America take steps to see that it is not destroyed?

I mean excluding all the people living in the occupied territories. There are about 4 million "palestiians" in Gaza and the West Bank and another 3 million living in refugee camps in the surrounding countries. That's almost equal to the 7 million population of Israel about 20% of which are already Muslim Arabs. You do the math there and you would realize that it they actually instituted representative democracy it wouldn't be much of a Jewish state anymore.
Don't those palestinians want their own country? It's fairly obvious that Israel's not going anywhere soon so are we honestly saying that those "excluded" would like to live in and become citizens of Israel?
Every powerful country back then treated the native Americans very badly.
Unlike other powerful countries our foreign policy is tempered by the idea of making the world a better place. We sometimes try, and we are not ruthless as previous strong countries.

How come none of these guys know the real story? After 1967, the Israelis gave the US Army all the Soviet Arms captured from Egypt and Syria. The US then created their own Soviet Armored Division so that US Armored Divisions could practice against it, in Arizona. IT was all supposedly preparation for the expected Soviet attack on Western Europe.
But all that armored desert warfare practice sure came in handy for Gulf War I, and then again in Gulf War II. Coincidence?

I am also American.
I have gone on Muslim blogs playing the Devil's advocate in regards to Israel. I also try to show from a historical perspective that America is really not that bad, as compared to other strong countries.

Personally I wish the Nation of Israel was never created. The problem is that is was, and now it is home to millions of people that had nothing to with its creation and yet now call it home. These millions of people are faced with real danger. As a fellow democracy, should not America take steps to see that it is not destroyed?
On the other hand, to quote Bill Maher, "Just two cousins fighting over Uncle Abram's farm".

Those millions aren't so innocent. They moved there. The country has not been around that long. Also, I don't know if excluding the majority of the population counts as democratic. We should just let everyone who wants to leave immigrate here and let the rest kill each other or whatever they feel like doing but we shouldn't keep supplying them.
I hate to admit it but outside of helping win WW2 and throwing off the British most of our actions have been generally bad. Just ask a native American.

One of my better friends is an American Jew. His family is originally from Syria. Before coming to America his family moved to Israel. His family's experience living in Syria was not pleasant. If you like do some research on the average experience that Jews have in Muslim nation. Because of this I understand why Jews would like to have at least one country to call home. There are many Christian nations, many Muslim nations, a few Buddhist nations, but only one Jewish nation.

Well the Zoroastrians, the Mormons or the Sceintologists don't have a country either should we carve them out one somewhere?
Sorry, but that kind of logic just doesn't hold up. Creating one more country based on religion doesn't help the world.

It's not a matter of carving out a country anymore. That's already done. What people are proposing now is destroying another country or allowing it to be destroyed.

What do you mean by excluding the majority of the population?
A part of me agrees with you about the immigrate or die idea.
I have talked to a few Muslims about that the Torah / OT and Koran state that Israel belongs to the Jews. From a purely religious point of views Israel should be Jewish.

I mean excluding all the people living in the occupied territories. There are about 4 million "palestiians" in Gaza and the West Bank and another 3 million living in refugee camps in the surrounding countries. That's almost equal to the 7 million population of Israel about 20% of which are already Muslim Arabs. You do the math there and you would realize that it they actually instituted representative democracy it wouldn't be much of a Jewish state anymore.

Don't those palestinians want their own country? It's fairly obvious that Israel's not going anywhere soon so are we honestly saying that those "excluded" would like to live in and become citizens of Israel?

Every powerful country back then treated the native Americans very badly.
Unlike other powerful countries our foreign policy is tempered by the idea of making the world a better place. We sometimes try, and we are not ruthless as previous strong countries.
