And while I am at it, what was up with the space craft thing in the middle of the park? I vaguely remember being a young kid on a school function and going in there... but I cant remember what it was. Some kind of space/star thing?
And who remembers the water slides that were in Bell's before Big Splash. You paid like $5 for a half hour and they gave you a colored wrist band that matched up to a color on a clock they had. Once your "color" was done... so was your $5
When something would break, they would never fix it. That was kinda cool... kept up with the "run down dingy look". They had video games that were 40 years old... no joke. Nothing newer than 20. The mini golf course was missing turf on all the holes, and there were chunks of concrete missing from the sidewalks.
Thanks so much for posting this. I live halfway across the country now, but one look at this video and I could remember this like it was yesterday, even down to the way it smelled. It was my favorite thing at Bell's when I was a child. I'd get out of the cart and get right back in line to go again. I'm grateful you've provided a way to experience one last ride.
The lady in the black bikini used to be naked and spin around to reveal a rotting corpse. Also, there used to be a small roller coaster type drop when you came out on the top level before going back in. There used to be a waterfall at the end that would stop just before you got drenched and exited the ride. I got kicked out of Bell's when I was in 7th grade for getting out of the cart and walking around inside the ride. I miss Bells!
of course, "the naked lady" lol. I wish in the future bell's will be rebuilt and the phantasmagoria will be indentical to the first, that way I can take my own kids to ride it one day. I still remember my first time to ride it with my dad and sister about 15 years ago.
thank u soooooo much for posting this. I am so sick that my little nephews and neices who are around 5 yrs old...will never get the chance to go to Bell's and thru this ride particularly. Watching this vid I could almost smell the inside of the ride. Thanks again for a fun walk down memory lane.

I'm glad I got my pieces of Bell's before it was all gone. I saw one of the cars from the Phant in Blake's new place, the Max, downtown too.
