its a good idea. As long as you have assault terminators inside those landraiders. the only prob is if on is immobilized or destroyed, you just lost your flank. :p

replace the land raiders with rhazorbacks or dreadnoughts and place a nice little master of the forge or techmarine with servitors behind the group.

Why use 2 LAND RAIDERS to give a cover save to a vindicator? Yeah, I know how the land raiders can destroy stuff, but it is way to many points. I guess it is a good tactic for an army, but i wouldn't think of it as PROTECTING the vindicator. Also what about deep striking behind, or your enemy drop poding a Drednought. Once one land raider is destroyed, then the vindicator is going to die. But still, its not that bad of a tactic.

You don't cover from an explosion radius if some one shot your land rader then your vindicator will also most likely be destroyed in the blast also you only gave the vindicator cover from the sides but the front and back are wide open

you r using 500pts to protect a 115 pts vindicator not to mention the siege cannon is ordinance so it cant fire the storm bolter

Vehicles don't get cover like troops. Some in some of your shots you might get the 50 percent save. But I wouldn't use Land Raiders to obscure your Vin. Best bet is to avoid that situation. Deploy favoring a side or split up your Army into teams.

you only get cover saves if 50 % of the shot-assulted amour side is covered. only then do you get cover saves
