in the Aceh case, he plays down his own role (as well as his colleagues') in the appointment of the guerrilla leader to being the new Mayor of Aceh...also, the idea of the bully being won over by a little attention is the whole history of the US involvement in the Middle East for the last 40 years, where tyrants (bullies) were propped up with US help (money/guns). Are we to presume My Ury had nothing to do with this in his 30 year career? Read 'An Economic Hitman' by John Perkins for the truth.

William Ury has given a brilliant lecture on a world perspective of negotiations . The same perspective and 4 points can be used in normal negotiations. I pray that people like him will get peace to happen in al the troubled places in the world specially the Middle East, which can hapen with a change of perspective
