  • First aid kit?? Rain gear?? Map or compass?? Flashlight??

  • And don't worry about all the poor people's comments, they would rather buy crack cocaine instead of buying good camping equipment.

  • Cool pillow

  • You got a lot of expensive stuff there. Nice though for sure. Next time you make a video though set the camera in a stationary spot. I felt like I was going to puke from dizziness after watching this vid. You can't even follow it and I have to admit I didn't watch the last 2/3 of it.

  • Something i've come accustomed to doing for the duct tape, i wrapping it round a steel/aluminium water bottle, like the sigg ones you can buy, something i would rather do to wrapping it round a pen, but still, very useful video man!

  • firs aid kit?

  • why is all your shit brand name? seriously, how much money do you have? i have a brand name pack, pad, tend and a few odds and ends.... off brand stuff works just as fine i promise

  • @patrickman247 brand names are developed by creating quality products that are dependable. Spending a few extra bucks to make sure your gear is going to work when you absolutely have to have it perform is worth it. How broke are you that you have to buy crap gear?

  • @MrGdubj pretty broke, and my gear tends to work when my friends brand name stuff fails

  • Jet boil crunch it? thats a waste of space and weight along with a bunch of other gear you showed, that trowel is huge, for a water filter you should have gone with a sawyer and a camelbak, and use it as a gravity filter. Love your cook kit though. For pillow just stuff clothes in your sleeping bag compression sack. I know Im being critical here, youve got a bunch of great gear and Im jealous, enjoyed the video. Thank you.

  • WOW! Wish i had your budget for gear!

  • i'm new to hiking, looking around for tips on packing materials. really liked the vid bro, thanks a lot.

  • Looks like you have a good set up there. How'd the trip go ;) c

  • Great pack and lots of good video... well done!

  • Awesome video. I've been hiking the local trails, few miles at a time for a long while now. Just bought my first pack / tent / sleeping bag. Your video gives some excellent direction on where to go next!

  • what about fire

  • Great setup you got there!

  • You spent a tidy sum on all that, nice stuff.

  • watch out for the brain eating parasites in warm water, three people are already dead two kids and an adult man.

  • Hey how much does your pack weigh everything but food/water

  • @niVedoo 16 pounds, not including food or water

  • Really nice gears but why everything seems unused and new?

My brother traveled for years around the world and he didn't had the half of what you have.

He still had fun. Just saying.

  • @FEROClOUS

It's brand new, he must be new to backpacking. Nice stuff though!

  • Nice vid bro, thanks for sharing. What size event sack is that btw? Thanks!

  • @afplyr05 Thanks for the reply! The eVent stuff sack is size Medium. For my sleeping bag, I probably could have gotten a small instead, and still been fine.

  • Good job. I wasn't trying to be a wise ass I was just saying thats all. I have so much gear and nobody to go backpacking with . All my butt hole friends want to do is play golf. No adventurers anymore.

  • what size is the pillow? S M or L??? thanks great video. =)

  • @jessy126540 the pillow is a Small.

  • Some nice things.. I would need to add first aid. A solid fixed blade knife like an ESEE 4 or 6. More fire starting gear like a Strikeforce steel, never know if your stove takes a shit. You need a headlight and a good flashlight and extra batteries. Compass and Topo maps. Signal mirror. I could think of many things I would have to add to your gear to feel safe. What you have is a good start. . Down sleeping bags should not be left in a compression sacks for extended periods of time.

  • @russelltrang I have all of this stuff, I just didn't include it in the video. For first aid I bring a few cotton balls (those plus duck tape make a good bandage) and a couple pills of imodium and ibuprofin. As for the other stuff, I bring 2 bic lighters sealed in plastic bags, a Black Diamond headlamp, my knife is the Kershaw 1570ST. The down bag was in the compression sack just to show how it fit in my pack. I store it in the cotton bag that it came with.

  • @heatx If you have all of this stuff and actually pack it why would you not include it in the video?

  • great vid heatx! you inspired me to go out and buy some new gear...i picked up the thermarest pillow, seedhouse sl1 tent, 2 event dry sacks, and i went with the thermarest neoair size large because i wanted something lightweight. i'm 6-4 210lbs so the seedhouse tent was the longest lightweight 1 person tent i could find. and your right it can pack away to nothing! love it!

  • Great video! Just wandering since I don't own a down sleeping bag, doesn't the STS compression reduce the loft? Thanks for sharing your video and happy trails! =-).

  • @CDoggsRandoms Down bags are super lofty. I kept my older north face down bag in my garage stored in a compression sack (compressed) for over a year it retained it loftiness just fine. BUT most higher end down (and im pretty sure synthetic) sleeping bags come with cotton storage sacks that are much bigger than a typical stuff sack to keep it in when your not out on the trail, so it retains it's loft. I just had my bag in the compression sack for the vid. Hope that helped. Thanks for the sub!

  • @heatx Thanks man! I will suerly look into getting a down bag! Happy Trails! =-)

  • no knife?

  • You need a first aid kit as well as some survival gear. Better be safe than sorry!

  • @yuannieyao I didn't mention it in the video, but for first aid I bring a little baggy of ibuprofin, imodium, antibacterial ointment and some cotton balls. The duct tape + cotton ball makes for a great makeshift band-aid.

  • although 2lbs is light it's a far cry from superlight weigth...mine is 2lbs too (Golite Jam)...

  • @trollgoal There are definitely lighter option but 2lbs is pretty light for a pack. Plus with the lighter "ultralight" packs you lose some functionality.

  • Great Vlog! Come say hi sometime :)
