That being said... I have one of the baddest trucks in town, and no way I'm going to drive a 6 cyl Toyota that makes 1/2 the power and lasts 1/2 as long just to get 16mpg.
You're a liar. I have the exact same truck and my computer (for 5 years and 100,000+ mi) has read 12.5 mpg. When I reset it on the freeway the BEST I can get out of it is less than 14. My truck is perfectly maintained. I've spent 25K (ford dealer) keeping it in tip-top. It has new turbo, new FICM new timing chain and gears new hp oil pumr etc etc and also keep the ball joints, tires and brakes like new. No way you get 20!
@TNQTV I actually meant 20mpg. On a decent highway trip, the truck would see 20.x mpg consistently. Obviously around town or if my foot was in it, 14-16 was the norm.
@CxOxLxE Yes there is. They can average 20mpg stock. Throw in an intake, exhaust,& tune; that just increases efficiency. Plus larger wheels/ tires, lifts, towing a trailer, etc. dont kill fuel mileage like a gasser. Read up on diesels.

@FeaRxiLLuSioN might be a little more fuel efficient but its also 30 cents more a gallon so to be honest its not really worth it and i'll agree with you that they are more powerful but you can make a gas engine last just as long if you take care of it.
@georgehunter17 i'm really not its looks good but i know the reason discontinued them which is nobody buying them because of bad gas mileage, i now know diesels get about 30% mpg and with mods i think 17 is attainable 20 is pushing it (in my mind) but if it gets 20 thats awesome
