It was common back then to betrothe children & not expect them to live together until after puberty. Bakr may have been torn between his loyalty, fear of Mohamed (by then Mohamed had murdered several critics) & his love for his daughter... and we know what little regard men had for their daughters back then, so I doubt it was a hard decision.

I was very happy to hear that Abu Laban died the other day and olmost simultaneously the other cartoon-rage instigator, Ahmed Akkari, was involved in a car crash. The Gods are angry - very angry!! :-)

Portugal comes from the Islamic arabic word wich means "Orange" because the moslems growed a lot of orange at that area. Statistics are useless when these crimes are not crimes in Islamic countries.
"Honor" killings—The common practice of murdering girls who somehow "dishonored" their family by wanting to date a boy not approved of by the family.
Rape—women are at the mercy of any male in Muslim countries. It takes 4 male witnesses' to bring a case to court.
Beatings—husbands and other male family members routinely beat women and there is not one legal thing they can do to stop it.
