@themadmallard actually, on the console itself there are some pins that connect the expansion port on the NES' bottom to the cartridge connector, eventually there will probably be a peripheral created that can connect the different sound modules to the American consoles.
@sajo1111111 i wouldn't hold your breath. the chips weren't just for sound, they were memory mappers to increase cartridge size. Only a handful of games actually used the sound expansion option on those chips. For the NES to use them, someone would have to engineer a connector for the expansion port on the bottom that would override the top socket. I'd have to look at the diagram again, but I think that would mean bypassing the lockout chip somehow.

It's like subscribing to this channel gives you constant reminders as to why that's such a good idea.

Someone should make Megaman X in 8-bit and use these songs.

@CaseClosed343 IMPOSSIBRU, because this is VRC6, the NES only has the first 5 channels you see (and hear) in this video

@za909 ...unless you were to use VRC6 in the cart
gravywpg 1 month ago
@gravywpg Then you'd have to have a modded NES.
XBladenoJutsu 1 month ago
@gravywpg the NES did not have the pins in the game socket to connect to the VRC6. only famicoms did.

@themadmallard he didn't say it had to be an NES
who cares anyway, this cov is good and thats all that matters

I think I hear the difference. In the previous version, weren't the samples a clipped short just a tad?
Overall, it does sound better. Nice work.
