Fukuyama is not a former conservative, he still is. I myself am not conservative, but I respect the man. The interviewer is a dick. Fukuyama is what a real conservative actually is.

this was apparently some time ago, at least half a year ago from the time i'm posting this. i wonder what his opinions would be on how the financial crisis will affect everything, including foreign policy i.e. war on iraq and afghanistan, other than the obvious drain in money for the wars and eventual withdrawal of forces.
I totally agree, I also read The end of History, and he does not look that Neo-con...People with poor understanding, and little depth into his works wrongly criticize him.

I read his "Last Man", which he wrote in 1992. He didn't look like neo-conservative at all.
