If the health care legislation was legal, and in the best interests of the American people, it wouldn't have been shaped in secret behind closed doors. That fact alone raises concerns to question the ethics behind it. At the very least, what's currently "the bills" should be available for everyone to read over the course of the three week recess prior to the State of the Union address just past mid-January. The reality is that Clinton's policies had little tangible effect upon the economy excepting the measures he was forced to adopt by a house of representatives dominated by republicans who compelled him to deregulate the economy.
This simply made the state more susceptible to the whims of the business cycle and Clinton was lucky to be in office when the swing was upward.

If the health care legislation was legal, and in the best interests of the American people, it wouldn't have been shaped in secret behind closed doors. That fact alone raises concerns to question the ethics behind it. At the very least, what's currently "the bills" should be available for everyone to read over the course of the three week recess prior to the State of the Union address just past mid-January. To say there is unscrupulous intent to this legislation is an understatement.

The best we can get? I hardly think so. If the Democrats we elected as a majority in both the house and senate would wise up and grow a backbone, it can get MUCH better. What we have is a private insurance welfare program. Every CEO of every health care insurance provider is going on the dole. And the money to pay for this is coming directly out of our pockets.

I see no power in the Constitution that says you have the right to engineer any such program if so it would be up to the people or the states not the federal government, You better hope your @ss this has a state opt out option or I am going to make billions suing federal government for a direct breach of the constitution. My lawyer say this is the most sound way to take this down,
