I love both of their voices for their uniqueness, and although they are dissimilar in their styles, contrast is powerful and tension is evocative! Even if you don't like it at least you feel something about it. Very very well done here! Kudos.
Although I agree that there is a incongruity with the singers styles. I think what you have created here is really cool and interesting. Although Stevie isn't as hands on as Kate in the studio don't be mislead Nicks knows a lot about music production and is every inch the "auteur" that Kate is.
This is fabulous...I love both of these ladies, and Stevie and Kate are not as far apart on the musical spectrum as one might think. I would only make some minor changes. Someone should contact Stevie..get her away from Rod fucking Stewart!
Stevie, Kate, Stevie, Kate, look, I've got to say it as it is, You both cant keep fighting over me, oh well you can if you want, I cant help being a totty magnet so I understand you both
sorry, not to diminish Stevie's work as a vocalist, but I just can't listen to this without wishing Stevie's voice was not in the way. Just two very different styles and categories of work. I don't recall Stevie ever having done anything herself in the studio, Lindsey Buckingham was the guy in the studio with the Fairlight computer, and so was Kate always experimenting and breaking sonic ground. Nice try... just doesn't work for me.
@asarapi I totally respect that opinion and even agree with the studio comparison, but as Kate Bush has recently said (about "Director's Cut"), "the originals are still there, aren't they?" :)
first, I don't think her voice is in the way. I was pretty surprised this worked at all let alone as well as it did.
second, this isn't a contest on all levels! so no need to talk about dance background either! It's a mash-up of two songs. Stevie was never a real producer in the sense that she could make it her career. unlike Kate, she comes from a rock and roll/country background. Stevie is a more experienced live performer and collaborator.

I found the book of love to be invisible...come on inside it's cold old outside but I don't want to...These are my two favorite song birds even though there voices have changed its been perfected like Bette Davis they went to bubbly to Brassy fine wine is better when it's aged in wood.
People compare Stevie's & Kate's work. There are similarities, but Stevie's more about 'feelings' & emotions compared to Kate's ethereal explorations. Stevie's song talks about tears, paying the price & needing some rest. Kate's song takes you to the edge (of a labyrinth) and places you shouldn't see (under a veil). Sort of a yin-yang, between Stevie's emotions and Kate's search to be...invisible. Interestingly, Kate's videos are like some recent Salvia trips I took. Stevie's my emotions.
Two of my fav female-singers, wow! Love Kate &Stevie (sobs). Great work!

I've often dreamt of a musical ménage à trois between Kate, Stevie and Natalie Merchant.
Natalie would be the lyricist, Kate would write the song, then Stevie could perform it. I would die a very happy man indeed!.
