fuckin early november took the "i dont want you to love me anymore" and stuck it in their song "baby blue"... and I think they got sued up the ass, even if they meant it as an homage... rofl :)
haha well if you read interviews with the get up kids, they completely hate the scene now. they realize that they influenced a loooot of them but they think that all of them suck. so i can see them getting pretty mad about this
@macbethag There are still great bands making music like this. You just have to look for them. The ones sticking out like a sore thumb are the tight pants bands you're talking about. In The Get Up Kids day, you would have really had to look for bands like them too. It took them 3 to 4 studio albums to really get noticed.
Don't ask me why the mainstream produces such shit. That's just how it's always been.
@nelson3300 The Early November didnt took that line. they use that line just because.. maybe when Ace Enders is writing that song he was actually listneing to this song. :D it is said in wikipedia that TEN used it as a reference to TGUK. i love The Early November and The Get Up kids, they're both have big influence in me and in my music life. :)
@obaet They did take the line. It is a direct line taken from their song, with the same melody and all. I think the get up kids were down with it in general, but the lawyers on the other hand were not. I'm not trying to talk shit on either band, just that.. its ironic as fuck.
@nelson3300 Actually, Early November was paying tribute to TGUK as they were one of their favorite bands. TGUK didn't even know about the lawsuit. It was the suit and tie of the music industry suing. The band didn't even find out until one of the Early November guys asked them about it in person.

did they really get sued?????/ thats kinda retarded, everyone takes other bands lyrics, but not stealing them, just representing a band they love
