Hey, right now i can jump 2, maybe 3 inches above the rim , but it still isnt enoguh for me too dunk the ball. I've been starting working out in the gym, cause I've allways been skinny
Before, I never could've trained my legs like this because I was in the basketball season, or some intense condition training and having sore legs was allways a bad idea.
Since I stopped training basketball for a year cause of personal reasons, I'll definitely try this out. Looks very good to me. Subbed :)
Worked my way up(during the year) to 126lbs(2x63lb) dumbell squat jumps with good form for 38 reps so far. Finish off with stationary switching lunge jumps for 32 reps(16 per side) and then 10+10+5+5 126lb weighted lunges . Interestingly I also noticed huge improvement in both running speed and stamina with just those exercises alone. I recommend some kind of beta alanine based supplement with this to greatly reduce the burn sensation and improve gains. Without beta... hurts like hell.
@SuperiorMind yeah, if you do these in a circuit it can be good cardio. If you are a college or pro athlete you have to watch the supplements though, dont want to get something you shouldnt have!
his form during the exercise at 2:00 was brutal, his back was arched, head down and half the time his feet weren't even straight. If you want to jump higher do the workout right. Also ure ganna be more inury prone by doing the wrong technique.
@KINGsk8tr500 its okay to start at 15 but at 16 your body is more capable of certain weights me im 17 so I could workout as much as I wanted but bottom line the whole stunt your growth is a myth, if anything certain weightlifting builds testosterone in males
Im 14 years Old and 5'9. I Can almost touch the rimb I'm like 2 inches away from it. Is that good or bad ? And do these workouts even improve your jump ?
hey.. im 166cm and have a very poor jumping ability... seriously i want to touch the rim and dunk if possible... wht exercise do you recommend for me to do? thnks..
@KINGsk8er500 any body weight exercises are good, don't go too heavy on the weights yet though. Some light resistance training can be good for anybody
@melo19ful about 16 weeks, not taking any time off. leg workout 3 days a week, then core and upper body mixed with playing basketball on the other 4 days
@25Ledford i'm 5'9'' I can almost touch table i need like 1 inch maybe 2...how much i need to do this exercies so i can dunk (sorry for my bad english)
I never do specific calf raises with my athletes, unless i detect a weakness of some kind that needs addressing. Most people quite naturally believe that if they exercise their calves they have found the secret to jumping higher; they have not! It is impossible to say with accuracy that one exercise program is gonna work for everybody. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses that need to be assessed and addressed as part of the training program. Dr. Bounce aka CoachMass1.
Can left weights but u don't need to. If u do make sure it's not heavy weights. Cuz if u are 21 nd younger he body isn't gonna hav time to grow because it's not fully developed.
with your second workout, I did the same thing until my trainer advised me on keeping my switch leg as it would be when im actually jumping, i used to have mine too high and i would get out of control.
@xXBallersDelightXx buddy im really not an expert but i think u should wait a couple af year (15 years old) at least that was what my coach always said to me, but anyway i think u can beggin doing exercises with ur own weight, but again, im not an expert
@xXBallersDelightXx for now stick to body weight exercises, its easier on your joints and ligaments, body weight squats, one leg squats, jump squats, lunges, just a few that will be very beneficial
@iwanttofight69 they shouldn't if you stretch properly... Biggest problem with ALOT of athletes is improper stretching and tight muscles. I had a 34.5 in standing vert in HS and could dunk 1 handed (5'11, 7'10 standing reach) but tight rectus femoris/vastus/soas muscles caused knee tendinitis and thus killed my vert since I can't run/hoop/lift. long story short stretch properly, any pain, STOP and do RICE treatment, and again, STRETCH.
@25Ledford how long do i have to do this excersises? like for 5 weeks? cause im 5'8" and i can grab rim wiith two hands so i need some more explosivness to dunk? any suggestions?
wow i do about the same workout but you should try quick jumps with a bar from a bench with like 50 or more pounds on it!! great vid tho kudos for the kicks i got those same ones lol
@rsnddipset cool, i have added some box drop jumps, and other stuff to my workout... i am starting to see some good results. check out the progress on my channel 25Ledford
@rsnddipset I am 5'9" (and a 1/2 lol) but yeah, you do need a gym to do some of these workouts... since i have limited gym access, I do strength workouts for a while, then when i can get in a gym, i switch it up.

jumps if I were to take its training in maybe

that it gives all the training software providing
me techniques to achieve maximum vertical
jump and quickness in less than short weeks.
