Nice hog, I'm surprised the bullet stopped where it did.You got every inch of energy from it. I'm looking to buy a Hog/White tail rifle, but don't know what caliber to go with. I'm thinking a .308 because there is a ton of cheep ammo for the kids to practice with, but also thinking about something that shoots flatter like a .243, 270 or 25-06. Any advise from someone that has actually used these calibers would be appreciated. Thanks

This was a 165gr Trophy Bonded Bear Claw, I highly recommend them, they always work perfectly..... I've shot several hogs with these that didnt exit, but they always drop instantly. I would definitely use a .300 win mag if available for long range pig hunting, there is no such thing as overkill with wild pigs.
Yeah, they're great guns. I dont own this one anymore, I sold it to my friend (who's filming this) so I could buy my M1A. They are very accurate and light, I would like to get another one in .300 WSM.

nice pig, you know what they say about those lead mushrooms, there deadly to game, my one question is are you only using a food attractant or are you also using some type of scent attractant, the reason is that i hunt in georgia where even hogs cant not be harvested over bait and i was wondering if there was a not food based scent i could use, the property i hunt has recently had hogs migrate to the property and the are unwelcome,
this was over corn. I'm unaware of a scent attractant for hogs that isnt food based. Hog Wild is a berry flavored syrup that you pour on the ground that might work for you, but I dont know if it's considered food based. Happy hunting.....
thanks, i remember i viewed one of the other videos (not one of yours) about a scent attractant but alas i cannot find that video, i mostly hunt deer and we recently have had hogs come on to the property, they have been braking stuff and rooting up feed sources, so they have kinda become a nuisance and i figured the bullet and bbq method might be the best for the problem, but the hogs are rarely seen and since you can't bait its really a matter of luck to find them but thanks for the reply

Yeah, I highly recommend those bullets, I have recovered several from deer, hogs and a huge auodad, they all expanded perfectly. They also had the exact same point of impact as my match 168gr BTHP, which is pretty cool.
Are you using Speer for the match stuff. I use Sierra 168 Gr HPBT for the range but hunting 'rounds' (i don't usually handload hunting rounds) never hit where where my range loads hit.

that bullet seems to mushroom a lot better than all the other loads i have been using in my Winchester M70 .308. can you give me the brand name and bullet type. i might try them on black bears
They are Federal (the company) "Law Enforcement" sniper loads, shooting a 165gr. trophy bonded bear claw. I love these rounds, they NEVER fail, they were designed to stay together after going through a wall/door/windshield. you can get them on the internet.

that bullet seems to mushroom a lot better than all the other loads i have been using in my Winchester M70 .308. can you give me the brand name and bullet type. i might try them on black bears

They are Federal (the company) "Law Enforcement" sniper loads, shooting a 165gr. trophy bonded bear claw. I love these rounds, they NEVER fail, they were designed to stay together after going through a wall/door/windshield. you can get them on the internet.
