I saw them 3 times in the early 1980s and I do agree they were excellent, but I am not sure if I agree they were as good as Hatchet in their prime or Blackfoot. I will say when I saw them open for Rossington Collins Band (Lynyrd Skynyrd) and Hatchet with Danny Joe as the front man, Point Blank was excellent. I do agree they should have had a much better push from MCA Records than they did.
If I typed in one of my favorite bands and didn't get some back-asswards r &b group stealing another title or group name, I'd have a gd heart attack. damn, who the living hell is Point Blank other than the "real" Point Blank? There, glad I got that out. Get your own gd name!
Cool! Hey dok....did you get to see them this year when they came through? They only did a few shows...but they may be back there later in the year. Check my channel for more PB stuff too if you're interested. Thanks for posting this.
Hey Dok. Check out my channel when you get a chance. I have a video of the band doing this song in 1983 with Bubba Keith on vocals. Rusty is letting me dig through his archives and there will be more old stuff coming soon. Oh......and I believe they are coming back your way sometime in July....maybe....possibly! Peace!
Only one member of the band actually played on this song back in 1981....Rusty Burns. O'Daniel and Petty are original members but were replaced by that time. Still not a bad version. Bubba Keith sang this on the album.
Wrong. John O'Daniel was the vocalist for the original. I've known the guy for almost 30 years......and will swear on any stack of bibles you wanna put in front of me. Rusty went on the road with Ricky Lynn Gregg (Country artist, but formerly with a band called Savvy) after his time in PB, back in the 90's.
Sure will (wink) by the way, I think the drummer Buzzy died a few years ago.....I know he was very ill. This band is a pretty cool success story for a few guys out of Waxahachie, TX....
@thebeautifulman69 I would agree on that....its amazing how so many good acts never get their due while other bands with half the talent end up doing well. I guess its timing and a lot of luck too. This really is a great song
Did John or Bubba sing on the recorded version of Nicole?

@BubbaHiggenbotham
They were no european dates unfortunately.
Point Blank performed what I believe were two of the best shows I attended in my lifetime so far.
I gonna spend some time on your channel, Bubba. Thanks for your message.
Too bad for Philip. My mind aches.

they should have been better known. they are just as good as molly hatchet, lynyrd skynyrd, blackfoot or any other southern rock act.

@thebeautifulman69 I respect your opinion bro and I do like a couple songs from these guys, but just as good as Skynard?? That might be a reach?

@jswags yeah..you're probably right but they were drastically overlooked.
