Well because it is a science class, evolution should be taught.
Evolution is the current scientific theory on the origin of man.
But I think that religion classes in schools are a good idea if they teach about ALL mainstream religions indiscriminately. This would give students a better view of the world. They should also teach about the things that humans have done in the name of their god/gods.
P.S. Sorry I didn't vote in time to help with your project.
Science is sometimes called pure science to differentiate it from applied science, which is the application of research to human needs. Fields of science are commonly classified along two major lines...1.)Natural sciences, the study of the natural world, and
2.)Social sciences, the systematic study of human behavior and society.
From that perspective of defining science, I believe a combination of the two can be rationally applied, yet still allowing for the student to form their own judgment and opinion upon recieving the facts from both natural science and social science references. I suppose it ultimately is an intelligent design standpoint.
Young people are intelligent enough to gather the facts, apply the theory and cultivate their own understanding of the natural and spiritual world around them; and within themselves.
(sorry my response was so long, but it is extrememly difficult to answer this complex question succinctly)=) ~~Jules~~
I think you present both. Personally, I believe in The Creator, How HE/SHE did all this is quite a mystery STILL. I also feel that evolution is part of the unfolding story. Evolution is part of the truth, how much, well, time will tell...To me, the TheTruth is not a theory, but PERSONS.
*I am glad* and to continue, there is no concrete proof of creationism other than spoken word and written word of the bible. Then again,i think students should be told by their teachers that they don't choose the curriculum and the students can believe whatever they want, but that they should still learn evolution
I'm not gonna lie man, I'n glad u sent me this video. This is a really cool idea for ur project and I hope I can help u ace it. I am pro evolution in school because public schools are not influenced by the church or supported by them, and evolution is a nearly undeniable theory.
Evolution. It's supported by evidence, where creationism is not. And a science class should be teaching science not teaching things which have no evidence whatsoever to support it.
If you're going to teach creationism, shouldn't it be taught from the prospective of every religion, rather than just Christianity (since they all have as little evidence as each other).
In any case, creationism should never be taught in schools as it has absolutely no evidence to back it up.
Evolution on the other hand has mountains of evidence supporting it. Those who object to it are usually biased by their religious convictions.
That's an easy one. Science class should teach science. The theory of evolution meets all the criteria for a scientific theory and has withstood 150 years of critical research. Creationism doesn't even make it to the hypothesis mark, let alone peer review and evidence checking. Therefore creationism belongs in the humanities classes, if at all.
We always hear about evolution in school as it was the true, the one and only, but they cannot know, we cannot know. Evolution has a lot of facts, just as Creationism has, and believe it or not, both are based in theories. I think both should be taught in school, so we can make our own mind.
I have always struggled with believing the theory that we are a product of chaos (Evolutionism). I do believe that a higher power exists so Creationism gets a nod, but I also like the concept of 'Intelligent Design' especially if it is to be taught in public schools. The problem with teaching the two seperately is the question 'who is lieing and who is telling the truth' would probably most likely come to mind, so if I were to vote for one I'd say teach intelligent design. Thanks.
yooo... I'm not a good adviser actually. and I'm not so good at these things. so I just can't really say it. i don't wanna be guilty for a lot of work... k! but if you still wanna my opinion, then I would pick a... evolution, cause I have some knowledges about it. this doesn't help you, I know, but hey that's what you wanted in this video, isn't it? ;D
Evolution, as the theme of that portion of science is adaptation, past species and ancient history. Also, many people have many different religious beliefs, so creationism could be more offensive than evolution to some. Finally, schools tend to try to avoid putting God into any kind of curriculum unless it is part of a unit teaching ABOUT God, such as in Language Arts. Creationism should be taught in church or Sunday School.
i might be a little late to vote on this one.... but i say creationism should be taught in Private Schools with religion classes
Public school is a "public" school so evryone with different beliefs go there. I say evolution should be in school science classes

In science class you should teach science... So only logical choice is evolution... Creationism or ID are not even science theories...
If you want to learn about God, you can always go to Church, ask parents, read Bible....

Evolution. Every piece of evidence backs it up, creationism is just something that people used to believe. Intelligent design is creationism renamed.
